Hello folks!

So, today, I decided to take the plunge and try out this E-Cig thing, in hopes to quit my 20-30 cig a day habit that I've had for 12 years. I've been lurking here for a couple of days trying to gather info before I made my purchase, and based on suggestions here, this is what I've ordered from e-smokeytreats.com to start with:

Joye 510 starter kit with 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, charger, and 5 tobacco cartridges.
5 blank cartridges
5 menthol cartridges med strength 18 mg(I want my gf to try it so she can quit too)
5 tobacco cartridges high strength 24 mg
e-juice camel flavor med strength 11mg

I'm hoping this gets me going in the right direction, but I'm left with a few questions, either that I can't find a solid answer to, or that I'm not searching for the right words.

1: I cant seem to locate a shop state-side that carries the automatic batteries for this joye 510 vaporizer, or a PCC for this particular model. I'm also trying to figure out what exactly the PCC does. From what I can tell, it's a carrying case that charges the cig? And as for the auto battery, I think I would use that better while driving, as sitting in traffic for an hour to work and an hour from home is typically where I smoke the most now.

2: I just cant figure out how much to get, how many cartridges I should keep on hand, how much liquid it takes to fill a blank cartridge, how many cartridges can be filled with one bottle, etc. See, with using this while trying to quit, I dont want to risk running out, seeing as how you cant just pull into the local stop n shop and buy a pack of cartridges (yet), because I dont know if I would have the will power to NOT buy a pack of smokes if I have to wait a few days for cartridges to arrive. Can the blank cartridges be re-filled multiple times?

3: How do you know when to stop vaping? I haven't sat and counted how many puffs I get off a normal cig, but it typically only takes me 4-6 minutes to smoke a king sized cigarette. I will smoke 3-4 on my way to work, 1-2 on each 15 minute break at work(2), and sometimes 4-5 on my lunch break, and then 4-5 on the way home, depending on traffic, and then a few through out the night. If I'm playing video games, surfing the net, or drinking, i smoke really heavily. I'm trying to figure out how many cartridges will equal a pack of cigarettes for me. I smoke Camel Lights now.

Sorry for the long post and so many questions. I'm still trying to figure this out, and dont have any hands on experience yet, but i'm really hoping to kick this nasty habit. I'm tired of the smell, the coughing fits, the chest pains, lack of energy, shortness of breath, stained teeth, stained mustache because of the way I exhale, and the general un-healthyness of cigarettes, but it's SO hard to put them down. I tried quitting cold turkey so many times, only to make it no longer than a day or two without breaking down and buying a pack.

Welcome :)
1. theres a bunch of US based suppliers (you can look at the forums here for lists of suppliers and their websites - will show if they are US based or not) - I get my stuff from cignot.com as far as attys and bats and stuff like that. Delivery is great. Its actually better value (I think) to buy the no box kits cos you get 2 PVs which come with 2 bats and attys (obviously lol)
2. Thats a bit of a learning curve - you can't really tell how much you will get thru until you start vaping but I started with 2 packs of pre filleds (1 capu, 1 marlb) and a bottle of 24mg capuccino, some blank carts (which you can refill multiple times - may need to wash the fillings out tho) and some 0 nic 'mixers' to cut down the 24mg capu. Got all of these from Cignot btw.
3.There is no 'time to stop' - its when you feel like stopping. When you've had enough or when your atty is getting too hot and you put down your PV and not set your desk on fire. You can put it down, pick up put it down indefinately really - I do this when at the PC (I have a USB PT which means I don't use all my battery juice) :thumb:
As for how many carts=1 pack of cigs - that's a hard one. The higher the nic the harder the TH and the more easily your 'gotta smoke' itch will get scratched. Too high and you can get a headache though so be careful.
Maybe someone lese knows the cart to pack ratio Im sure someone will be along soon to answer that if not :)

1. still waiting on my pcc, so i have no idea

2. a cartridge can be filled many times, just be sure to wash out the filling when changing flavors. as for batteries: one will last me from 10am to 3pm while at school so about 3 a day (thats one for the drive to school and during, one for the ride home and for a few hours once there, and a third which never completely dies for the rest of the night)

3. i wish i knew. the only reason i chainvape is because im not sure when ive had enough. what ive started doing is when the atty starts to get too hot, hot to the point of pain to the touch, i put it down for a few minutes as dont pick it up until i really want a puff.

they will help you quite, whether you like it or not :). i didnt get a pv to quit, i got it so my car would stop smelling and so i could 'smoke' in the house, but im down from a pack a day to a pack a week without the motivation or even desire to quit. i can only imagine how easy it would be (for me) to quit if i only made the effort and/or switched to a higher nic juice.

also, a bit of unsolicited advice: order a few weird flavors and see if you like them. myPVshop.com has a good sampler pack to try a variety and you can order them at any nic level you wish.

Well, Thanks to Mr quackums, I've found my PCC, auto battery, and a great place for trying out new liquid at mypvshop.com

I added a whole new 510 kit, complete with a PCC, auto battery, atomizer, and 3 blank cartridges! I also ordered 3 more packs of 5 blank cartridges, 4 bottles of myKamel liquid, 1 bottle of menthol liquid, and a 6 pack sampler, with pepsi, orange, doublemint, mymarlb, cappucino, and pineapple.

Thanks! Let's hope this works! I just hope I dont have to replace atomizers very often. Those things look to be pretty expensive.

All analogs have roughly between 1.4 to 1.9 mg of nicotine. This means that each pack of cigs regardless of what type of cigarette has 18 to 20 mg of nicotine. A lot of smokers think that Light, Ultra-lite, etc. means less nicotine, Thats wrong.. Light and Ultra-light has to do with the additives to cigarette to reflect taste... essentially this is full-flavor or light flavor or ultra-lite flavor.

1 Ml of juice equals 20 drops of juice. If you order 24 mg juice.. That is 24mg/ml... Which means that per every ml of juice will equal 24 mg. So, if you have a 10 ml bottle of 24mg/ml Kamel... That is actually a bottle that contains 240 mg by concentration. It is recommended that you try to refrain from vaping more than 3 ml a day. For the comparison to an analog, every drop is worth one cigarette worth of nicotine( depending on the level of nic mg/ml that you go with.... 24mg/ml is way higher than the average for an analog but most start there becasue it is like a reward to keep from diverging back to the analog. 16 to 18 mg/ml is more comparative to the level of an analog) but what you have to get used to is the delivery of nicotine without all the extra chemicals like ammonia that your body has grown a tolerance for and craves. These extra additives are really what makes it hard to quit in the first place and once you get past the hump .. then, life gets easier!!!!

Happy Vaping

You've got a good start.

Carry a 3 or 5ml bottle of juice with you. You'll likely never run out of that if you fill it up before leaving.

As far as 'when to stop vaping' - when there isn't an 'urge'. I see you have some 11mg juice. It's nice to have some 18 or 24mg juice too. Try ECOpure here:
ECOpure juice

... that's VG based which will give you good vapor and if the 11mg isn't getting it as far as nicotine goes, put a few drops of this on a top off. Go back to the 11mg for regular if you can and then when you need that 'hit' go to the 25mg. Better than vaping 25mg all the time, esp. if you don't need it.

I'll have to check out some more supplies. Looks like maybe I need to get a couple of small portable bottles to carry with me, and some sort of carrying case for a complete 510 assembled. That PCC doesn't look very friendly to carry. Right now, it wouldn't be a problem since I always have a coat or jacket with a pocket, but not sure what I'll do when spring/summer rolls around.

Thanks again for all the great tips and support guys!

I don't know about the 510 specifically but I know what gets me through the day with my KR8. I have a carrying case which I keep one battery in and 4 carts along with the preassembled one. I have yet to run out of juice on the go even when out at night or gone all day. I have a usb adapter for my truck so If worse comes to worse I can charge the dead batteries. I jsut make sure to top off all my carts before I leave the house and I've yet to have a problem.

I've heard of places that have automatic batteries for the 510 but don't remember where.

But if you're like almost everyone else, you are going to prefer the manual battery anyway.
A manual battery may very well be EASIER to use while driving.

You should take a look at the thread linked in my signature for more information.

2: I just cant figure out how much to get, how many cartridges I should keep on hand, how much liquid it takes to fill a blank cartridge, how many cartridges can be filled with one bottle, etc.
Rather than worrying about how much liquid to refill a cartridge, you should think in terms of how much liquid you go through in a day. Most people here average somewhere in the 2-3ml range, with some using much more and some much less.

Can the blank cartridges be re-filled multiple times?
Yes, they can.
But after a few refills you may want to wash them out if you want to keep using them.

Again, you might want to read the thread linked in my signature for more information.

You never really know until you find out how you wind up using them.

I have only had my vapor king for 2 days now. I started with the 36 mg carts. They were a lot stronger than I thought they would be. I just placed an order for the 24 mg juice for refilling. I was a pack a day smoker for 22 years, and I have not picked up an analog since I received my kit. I only go through 2 carts a day. I am trying to only use it like the way I smoked. I tend to over do things sometimes, and I don't want to feel like I need it every 5 minutes. By the way, I still have 3 1/2 packs of cigs left in the truck. So it has not been a money issue. I just really hate the .......s now. good luck.

awesome! I hope I can get to that point, with having cigs on hand but not wanting one. I just wish I had ordered earlier, and not on a holiday weekend, lol. I've got to wait till at least Tuesday before I even get my kit. Monday IS a mail holiday, right?

Thanks for the info, and the link to the post. Very helpful info here. I did end up finding an auto battery at mypvshop.com. Rather than order just the battery, I ordered a whole new kit complete with PCC, and just chose the auto battery since I'll have 2 manual batteries from my original kit purchase. So, starting off, I'll have 3 batteries, 4 atomizers, since I also ordered a seperate one, and about 20-25 blank cartridges, several juice options, and some filled cartridges. I think I did ok, I just hope I can time ordering so I dont run out of anything and want a pack of smokes.

Same story for me, 2 days and analog free, I'm actually walking around with 2 packs of analogs in my coat pocket, and haven't had the urge at all, this is really amazing as i have tried to quit many many times.

Well,

I received my kits tonight, charged my batteries, blew out the atomizer like it says in the "Everything you ever wanted to know about your 510" thread, filled my cartridge with some MyKamel from mypvshop.com, and took my first few drags.

 This is AWESOME! The throat hit is at times even MORE than my regular camel cigarettes. I'm amazed! And the juice tastes VERY similar to a camel.

I can't wait to try these other flavors.
