hi all ok so a few hours ago i didnt know anything about vaping, ive done some research, and i feel like i already want an upgrade from my little SKYCIG, i cant belive i got ripped off £50 for it when there is obviously much better batteries, mods etc on the market for lower cost. anyway ive been looking at various things, and i think (without trying) i would feel good with the following setup, please can anyone who uses theese products rate them and how they preform....

Battery is a choice of either of theese two:
Joyetech eGo-C 1000mAh Battery & Pass Through £17.99 - Vaping Spares - Batteries & Passthroughs Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid or
Joyetech eGo-C Twist VV £22.95 - Vaping Spares - Batteries & Passthroughs Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid i dont know if the c twist is recargeable via usb

second thing is the cartomizer this is where i need your advice, what is better atomizers or cartomizers, i think i want to use a 'tank' so i dont have to constantly refill seeing as how i smoke alot at the moment during work and home time, so what works best and what would work best with the batterys ive suggested. also is there cartomizers or atomizer brands that are better than others, obviously like all of you im looking for good amounts of vapour, great tastes and decent throat hits, im quite a heavy smoker at the moment so advice me best you can. i know i will only find what works for me through trial and error but there must be some products that are going to outclass other products.

also im still not 100% on atomizers with tanks, i get how cartomizers work with them but im confused with the atomizers if sum1 could explain that in detail abit it would be great, is there a blank tube that the juice drips through into the atomizer asif you wor dripping it in yourself?

Get the twist - you'll be happy for the flexibility in power.

Also, a good 'split the difference' approach between capacity and ease of use is the vivi nova. It's a better vape than from your typical cartomizer, with better capacity (though not all of the capacity of some of the big carto tanks). If you want it to look real slick on an ego sized battery, they make a mini vivi nova that holds 2.5 ml and looks quite good on an eGo twist with a small tank skirt.

am i right in thinking the twist isnt able to be charged via usb though?

I think the vision spinner can be used while charging. I am not positive but check into it because I swear I read that on here somewhere. I would recommend a small smok tech dual coil tank with a single coil 2 ohm to 3 ohm tripple prepunched carto inside. They work great and look good on the ego if you get that little 2 dollar skirt to cover the threads. The vivi nova only works at low voltage so for me it ruins the twists vv capabilities.Good luck no matter what you choose.

This would be what I recommend :
SLB eGo-V True VV Pass Through eGo 3.0-6.0v LCD Screen - SILVER
SLB eGo-V True VV Pass Through eGo 3.0-6.0v LCD Screen - SILVER [gv-SLBeGo-V-PassThrough-SILVER] - $29.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
Kanger T3 eGo Clearo Bottom Coil 2.4ml Replaceable Coil - 2.4ohm
Kanger T3 eGo Clearo Bottom Coil 2.4ml Replaceable Coil - 2.4ohm [gv-KangerT3-CLEAR] - $6.25 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
(Don't forget to get an ego charger if you go ego)

Note: I haven't used the ego i posted, but it will be delivered to me tomorrow, and you can't go wrong with a bottom coil clearo, and at 2.4ml, it should easily last you all day)

henney, the Twist is not a 'passthrough'. This means you can not vape while you are charging it. The charger does plug into a usb computer port or wall usb plug. General rule of thumb for battery longevity is approximately 1 hour per 100 mAh, so 900 mAh = 9 hours of use. All depends of course on how much you vape.

Niether the twist or the spinner can be used as pass through devices. But pass through does not make sense if you have two batteries. A 1000 mah twist or 1300 mah spinner will work all day usually. Just charge one while you use the other. The ViVi is nice, but I would recommend the Kanger T3 for the twist as I think they wick better. The T3 got a mention by PB for 2012 best new products along with the twist. That is a great combination for a new heavy vaper. IMHO.

What I think of when you say attomizer with tank is the eGo-C system or similar like this. That was my first e-cig and I still like it for some things. Having said that, there are better systems out there now and I would recommend you try the Kanger, Vivi Nova or carto tanks instead. No matter what you try first there will always be a learning curve and getting to know the cleaning, maintenance and tips & tricks for the device can make or break your experience with them.

I didn't feel like typing so:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...eral-questions-newbie-please.html#post5550083

Also, I vape a decent amount, and the most so far is only 2ml a day (I might know a lot. But it's only been 2weeks!). So you can start with that kinda number for a guide.
Most vapor production is normally tied to Vg/Pg, most people start at 50/50, and play afterwards, maybe 70vg/ 30pg might be for you, as it will normally give more vapor, might it might not deliver as much taste. So it's just something you need to play around with

And yes, a twist will pay off as time goes on, so you might as well start with it, it's always nice to have that added flexibility to change the votlage, up or down depending on each juice you use.

Since you seem to be a bit confused on atomizers, carts and ect here's a short run-down to help you out:

Atomizer- The heating element which vaporizes the e-liquid. Every delivery system, from atty + cart to an RBA, utilizes and atomizer.

Atomizer + Cart/Atomizer + Tank - Both work on the same principle; an atomizer (the heating element) attached to the battery that you then insert a cartridge or tank full of liquid into. The liquid wicks into the atomizer and you vape away. The cartridge and atomizer system was the original e-cigarette delivery system and lasted quite a while. The tank and atomizer are somewhat new-ish, and hold a bit more liquid than the old design. It's the same basic principle, only it uses a plastic tank with a silicone seal to hold the liquid. Most people don't like either, but I prefer the atty + tank system. These are prone to leaking though, especially if you're lazy about cleaning them.

Cartomizer - A massive upgrade on the original design, the cartomizer is an atomizer and cartridge in one device. Holds more fluid than the original cartridges, and it rarely leaks or has any wicking issues. Fill it up and vape away! But you do have to top it off whenever it starts to go dry, and hope you don't burn the filler. I always keep at least one cartomizer full as a backup, because they're sturdy and reliable. Most hold about 1 ml of juice, but some go up to 3 - 4 ml.

Clearomizer - A clear glass/plastic tank with the atomizer inside. Most swear by them, but many have leaking issues. Other known problems are dry hits, wicking issues and prone to breaking. There are many good ones out there, though: the Vision Vivi Nova, the Splitfire and the Kanger T3 are some of the more popular ones around here. Most of the newer and better ones have replacable atomizer coils, so while there's a higher up front cost they can be cheaper in the long run than many other systems. Most of these are not good for cinnamon or strong citrus flavors though.

Cartomizer Tank - A cartomizer inside a glass/plastic/pyrex/metal tank. The best of both the cartomizer and clearomizer; easy to fill, easy to know when you're liquid is running low, great taste and vapor (or so I'm told). They also hold about the most fluid, usually topping out around 6 ml (so does the Vivi Nova). They have a bit of a learning curve, and can be prone to most of the issues as the other systems. These are also not good for citrus or cinnamon, except in a pyrex tank.

Rebuildable Atomizer - Somewhat similar to a clearomizer, but with all the benefits of direct dripping. As the name says, you can re-build these to your own specifications. Extremely steep learning curve and up front cost; you need a multimeter, an APV along the lines of a Vamo or a Provari and some electrical knowledge to get these working correctly, although there are many tutorials on how to maintain them properly.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

How does the Vivi Nova only work at low voltage? You can put a 1.8, 2.4, or 2.8 ohm head on it, so it should work anywhere from 3.4 - 5.0 volts.

Or is it a personal preference thing?

I don't know what ohms you're using but the vivi nova works at higher voltages. I've tried it. I prefer to vape in watts but have tested volts out with the vivis.
