New to e-cigs

Hello everyone my name is Jon, I am from Chicago, IL. I have been lurking and researching on the ECF forums for quite some time. I've finally decided to start posting as of today. Mainly because I wanted to be able to post in other sections (mostly in the buying and selling forums I have some BWB I bought that I am just not quite enjoying).

I started using e-cigs since my New Years resolution was to quit analogs. So far so good , I haven't picked up a single analog since New Years. When I did smoke I rolled my own, I mostly used Drum tobacco.

I currently own a Joy eGo that I bought from Liberty Flights. I am really enjoying it, I am sure though after reading about 500,000 post on ECF I have been swayed to purchase more e-cigs. But as of right now I am sticking to my Joy eGo.

Welcome. I use Liberty Flights, also. When you are ready to get your next PV, my advice is to get a good variable volt PV. That looks to be the future of vaping from a power stand point.

Don't jump in to buying more PVs just yet, you still have the world of LR attys, LR cartos,
Mega type A & B attys, 306 attys, clearomisers, map tanks, and Mega cartos to try.
And they will fit the ego without even an adapter, now if you get a couple adapters.....

I was thinking about getting one, however the price is brutal. To me dropping that much on a e-cig seems a little to much for my wallet at the moment. I am sure in the future I will pull the trigger and buy one.

From the ones I tried I really enjoy sweet, and fruity flavors. Tobacco is a on and off for me. One week I really like tobacco others I can't stand it. I have never tried a sour e-juice, but it sounds a little frightening.

I have only tried BWB e-juices so far and a couple pre-filled carts. I have tried espresso (favorite so far), menthol, casablanca, and blueberry (2nd favorite).

I smoked menthol analogs when I first started smoking but moved into full flavor/light analogs a couple years later, from there when I found Drum I stuck with it. I read countless post of non-menthol smokers enjoying menthol e-juices, but it sadly wasn't the case for me. Menthol e-juices isn't my cup of tea.

Thanks for the advice Stosh, the world of attys is to much to comprehend for me. I've always wondered, some people touch base on the difference between LR attys vs regular 510 attys but I never found a descriptive difference. Care to explain?

It's simple if you remember that what you get in the amont and heat of your vapor depends on the wattage your PV is putting out.
The difference in a 60 watt lightbulb and 150 watt floodlight, is obvious. Both are using the same voltage out of the outlet in your wall, the difference comes in the amperage used and resistance of the bulb.

When you change the resistance of your atty, say lower, and keep the voltage the same, the wattage produced changes, producing a hotter and more vapor, less flavor, IMO.

LR atty /carto on a 3.7v battery is supposed to feel like a 5v vape. Better way to try 5v vaping is to invest in a 5v pass through, cheaper than a mod and you get the real 5v experience. (I didn't like it)

The thing to remember is to find the wattage you like, flavor wise, vapor wise, and heat wise.
Then pick the ohms that will do it for your particular battery / PV.
The wattage for a particular juice flavor may be different for different people and it's your
"sweet spot" that you need to find, reguardless of posts and recommendations.

5v and 6v are highly regarded by many ECF vets, yet for me it was just way too hot,
I like vaping about 5-6 watts, and for some of my fruit flavors 4-5 watts is plenty.

Do you see a major change in vapor production just by getting more vg in your e-juices?

LOL, find a good supplier having a sale on juice, stock up a little with a few new flavors (small bottles)
and add a couple attys on, that's how I ended up trying all the different attys and cartos I have, most
just out of curosisty. The ones that are just, so-so, are now backups in my tackle box.

I've settled on a 50/50 mix in juice, enough VG for vapor, enough PG for flavor, works for me.
Not a bad place to start, and adjust a little up or down, depending on your preference.
I used it to test what I like for a ratio, planning on adjusting, but kept coming back as the
adjustments didn't make it better for me.

CONGRATS ON QUITTING!!! You will soon love the feeling of not having that disgusting smell on you constantly, the yellow teeth, the ash, and you DEFINATELY wont miss the chemicals going into your body. Keep on vaping and experiment with different flavors to get a good variety.

I also offer my congratulations. A little advice about juices - if you have some now that you don't like, keep them. As your system gets used to not smoking your tastes may change. What I loved the first two months I don't like at all now! Keep trying different juices when suppliers have sales and evidentually you will settle on a few favorites.
