Just bought my husband an eGo-t starter kit. Just the simple one to get him started. When it works he likes it but it is not constant. He is getting frustrated. We know it is fully charged and he holds the button and is taking long slow drags. But then sometimes he gets a good hit then goes to take another and nothing. No sound. No vapor. Help??? Thanks!

Welcome to ECF, Suzie Q. One of our knowledgeable member should be able to give you some advice on this.

I'll throw my 2 cents in and suggest taking shorter draws and giving it a short rest in between to allow the wicking to catch back up and get saturated.
Not sure that's the problem, but it might help.

Hi Suzie Q. :)

eGo-T is the name of both a battery and tank product when sold through certain outlets.

The good news is the batteries are often perfectly good. The bad news is the "real" Joyetech eGo-T stands for "tank" system which utilizes a separate atomizer and tiny "tank". If you have one of these, they are troublesome at best.

OR, you might have a standard plastic or glass one-piece tank and atomizer, known as a clearomiser (clearomizer = US). The normal reason for these not working is no electrical conductivity.

Which do you think you have?

I'm guessing that the head he has looks something like this?
https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...-electronic-cigarettes-round-mouth-atomizer-1

This is what's called a "top coil clearomizer". It has long wicks that go into the tank. If this is the case, he can probably get better results if he tips it upside down for a bit before vaping. The wicks on this kind of clearo really don't do that well getting enough liquid onto the coil.

But a batter choice would be one of the BCCs (bottom-coil clearomizers). Something like an EVOD or a GS-H2 are good entry-level choices; or something like an Aspire Nautilus perhaps.

I suspect you have a cheap tank, when I first got into vaping i suffered the same it was because I was always vaping it and the tanks wicking method couldn't keep up. I would suggest a Aspire BDC tank which has replacement coils I found them to be really reliable, dependant upon how much liquid you vape I would recommend changing the coils monthly to maintain a good, reliable and consistent vape

Hope this helps alternatively pop in to your local shop (if you have one) and get some advise

All the best

Mark

Welcome aboard
Verify that the clearomizer is attached to the battery firmly.
Has battery been fully charged?
IIRC, the fire button should light when pressed and stay lighted while taking a puff. If the light blinks or the turns off, the battery charge is too low or the atomizer is shorted.
Have a local shop check it out for you.

Ok. This is all new to us and some of the words you are using get a bit confusing. :) I am not sure if you are seeing my reply. The thing that holds the liquid is clear.
The problem is that there are a bunch of different heads where the liquid tank is clear, and they are all called clearomizers.

Did you look at the link I posted? That is what I suspect he has.

Here's what other ones look like (These are all BCC's; the CE4 I linked to above is a TCC):
GS-H2: https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10005576/1437008-gs-h2-e-cigarette-round-mouth-atomizer-1-5ml

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

Make sure the top is screwed on snug, but not over-tight! Sounds like the head isn't making a good connection with the battery.

If this is the case (as twgbonehead mentions above), then the center pin of the battery is not making a connection with the atomizer of the clearomizer/tank. This usually occurs from over-tightening the tank onto the battery connector. Just make sure that if you use something conductive (metal) to pry up on the center pin that you do NOT hit the fire button while you are working on the battery. Or better yet, turn off the battery.

I'm sure this answer has already been given, but just incase it hasn't I'll say it. Those blister kits with the included clearomizer are usually not the best and can take longer to wick the juice into the coils, so I'd recommend either looking at a new tank, getting a lower viscosity juice, or setting the vaporizer down for a minute or so in between toots to ensure proper wicking.

Smokes are easy, light one up, and you are good to go. Ecigs, however, take some time to learn..And you have found the right place for that.
I am new to this too. Two months ago I didn't know what a clearomizer was.
Now I am reading and learning new things here everyday.
The bottom line is, don't let the problems discourage you, the key to vaping is finding a setup/ combination of equipment that works for you.
This really can become a healthy, enjoyable hobby!

Well, we tried lifting up the battery as recommended and no change. You are right. This is very frustrating and we don't have cash this week to get him smokes. That's why I got him the e cig. Ugh!!!! We give up for now. Store is closed today so he is going to take it back tomorrow. Thanks again everyone!! I will be back to learn more once we get one that works!!! :)
