I'd recommend the Vivi Nova 3.5ml tank. That has a replaceable coil that you can easily switch out. It comes with three of them at 1.8, 2.4, and 2.8 ohm. I don't think it's either a clearomizer or a cartomizer tank, but I believe it works like a clearomizer. Don't quote me on that, please. I'm relatively new so I don't have a firm grasp on the terminology. Or, if you want to go with cartomizer tanks, for starting out I'd recommend the smoktech's DCT tanks, and get some pre-punched (or I guess you can punch them yourself if you want) single-coil cartomizers to start out. Most DCT tanks come with cartomizers, so I guess you don't really need to get more cartomizers until you know you like the system.

DCT tanks are awesome you can't go wrong IMHO... now with clearomizers, eh... I tried them once I wasn't a fan but hey you have to figure out what your likes and dislikes are there isn't one single post or review on ECF that can definitely tell you that this is for you you just have to make the plunge with the reasearch you are willing to put in and more times that not you'll figure out what you really want! (BTW, you can punch carto's yourself if you go the carto tank route with something called a saddle valve which you can pick up at any hardware store.) Here's a video if you dicide to go this route:

Props to Shan B. for the vid!

While I personally like the vivi nova, I would suggest getting a couple clearomizers and a couple cartomizers, try them see which you prefer. Knowing that will help when you do go to get a tank of some sort.

As the tank only allows it to hold more, the taste difference comes from the carto or clearo.

I also have the Riva 510 and I use the Boge refillable 510 cartomizers 2.0 ohm. I use the carts when I am home and I use the E1 clearomizer when I am out. I am very happy with both of them and haven't had any issues. The clearomizers are nice for when your out since you don't have to refill them near as often as the cartomizers. From what I have learned is everyone has thier favorites. I would order a few different ones and see what works best for you. Where are you at in KC. I was starting to think I was about the only person in KC who vapes!!! :)

Vivi nova is great, but from what I understand there were many revisions. I believe the new one is 2.5 or 3.0? Cant remember, but I've found some sites are still selling the older models. I know madvapes and cov both sell the newest, and COV emailed me the other day saying they have more in stock. They were sold out everywhere for about a week (sold out if you wanted to pay $12-$13 rather than $20-$25.)

The only difference in 2.0 and 2.5 is the longer wicks on the heads and compared to the older 2.0 a stronger tank material. The only one you want to stay away from on the vivi nova is the 1.0. It had some major issues and the air holes are in a different place on it.

Most of the 2.0 you will see out now have the same tank material as the 2.5.
