New to ECF and wondering about DIY eliquid flavoring tips?

I have been mixing eliquid for a long time now but I feel like there is something I am missing. I mix 60pg/40vg with 30% flavoring usually.
When I order flavoring from Wizard Labs I can order Lorann flavoring and mix it and it seems perfect but if I order directly from lorann it is darker and seems to not be as good. I tried this with capellas as well and had the same problem. So I'm wondering what is the difference and why is it thicker and darker flavoring? So any tips on if I am supposed to dilute the flavoring before I mix it with pg and vg or what I am doing wrong would help :)

Each different flavor require mixing at different strengths i.e. they are all different. And this also varies based on the manufacturer and, of course, individual preference. But 30% seems very high -- high enough that you may actually be muting your flavors. Not enough info to give you better feedback but hopefully this helps. And yes, you will learn plenty in the DIY forums. Your first stop should be to search for suggested mixing percentages on your current flavors. Good luck and enjoy!

I believe there are at least 2 different versions of Lorann's, one is more concentrated than the other. As LoveVanilla said, each flavor is unique and may be much less than the 30%. It's much easier to start low and add more or you can salvage what you've got by diluting with unflavored liquid until you reach your desired flavor level.

Keep notes and sample as you go. Also be aware that some flavors need to age/steep to reach their full potential--tobacco, coffee, chocolate and multi-flavor mixes, especially. Fruits are usually good to go unless the flavoring is an alcohol base--then they probably need to sit with the cap off for a day or 2.
