New to ECF! New to vaping! This is my quick intro!

I love this forum! I have been lurking around as unregistered and have been enjoying the many hours of research I have been doing before my first LEGIT purchases. I recently received the most basic of basic kits from fasttech.com. Came with two standard eGo knock offs and a pair of CE4 clearos. I ordered up 5 flavors of juice and just got them in the mail this past weekend. Tried em out and all I can say is that they work. That's it. Is it pleasurable? Myeh. It is what it is. A tease.

I live in Las Vegas so I traveled over to Pink Spot Vapors retail shop. It is quite the popular place on a Saturday afternoon! Very nice shop. Music and couches so you can try out some flavors, pick your faves, load up a tank and chill for a while. I had a really good feeling about PSV.

So I tried a bunch of flavors out. The flavors I got from fasttech were hit and miss. Some had no flavor at all, some had flavor but didnt hit the mark, and some I just wanted to toss out. Sampled my ... off at the counter with a very helpful employee. Almost all the flavors I tried were amazing! They were demoing with CE4's on eGo twists. Got the numbers on the resistance and the volts he was using at the time so I could compare the taste when I got home. Ended up purchasing a sampler pack of our favorites that we tried. Now I am getting excited!

Got home, loaded up my clearos, fired one off. Result? Not impressed! I knew my fasttech stuff was just not cutting it. I needed to get some proper equipment. But then I was told to let my juice steep and it should get better. The difference was minor. My hunch was right. I needed an upgrade. Oh well...20 bucks doesn't sting too bad.

So to wrap up this long winded post, I did my research...many many hours worth...and this is what I came up with...

1) For my old lady I bought an eGo twist from altsmoke because they have the purple one. 650mah. She wanted something compact, somewhat adjustable, and visually appealing to her. So I thought to myself, what is the best juice delivery device to accompany her new twist? Kanger EVOD in purple was what I landed on. This should be a good starter kit for her.

2) For me...I wanted something beefy. Something more serious. Something with a following but wouldn't break the bank. Something tried and true. My decision? VAMO V2 from ExhaleVapors.com. They had the chrome in stock so I had to get on it for 40 bucks! Grabbed up a pair of 18350 efest batteries and an efest 2 bay LCD charger to bring it to life. And last but not least, a Kanger ProTank.

My old lady's setup should be arriving in the next couple of days and I speculate that my order will be arriving early next week. Very excited to compare the hardware I ordered to the fasttech knock off kit I currently have.

Anyhow..that is my story. Glad to be a part of the ECF community!

Theres some legit juice vendors online, you will probably find some eliquid you really like. The best area for that is the ELIQUID DISCUSSION forum here, folks will yakk all day about who has the best juice. See which companies are mentioned most often and give them a shot.

I'm 99% sure it will beat Chinese eliquids.

Welcome to ECF ex-lurker!

I'm jealous; nothing like Pink Spot Vapor where I live! Sounds like a groovy, fun place to be, not to mention quite the savings compared to buying hit & miss online.

You're on the right track with what you've gotten. And maybe got into the VAMO a little soon. One of the advantages to starting out one step at a time is that you end up building up your arsenal of devices, all of which are the right tool for the right time. I would never start sucking on a VAMO right before bed or early in the morning. Even in the evenings when the mood is quiet & reflexive, I'll opt for my eRoll or a simple 901 battery with a small carto on top. Simple, mellow & perfect. Don't make the mistake of going too big, & not just cuz you may not be ready for it, but because all that other smaller not-as-manly-equipment serves as much of a purpose as the bigger toys. :2c:

You're on the right track, you're in the greatest place in the world, ECF, & I'm jealous of your time at PSV :p

See ya on the threads ex smoker cool new vaper! ;-)

Thanks for the insight! I am sure I won't be vaping solely on the vamo. I envisioned myself using it during peak hour party time at my house. It will most likely stay right next to my DJ equipment so I can have at it while spinning some sets. I am very open to suggestions for something smaller for when I go out to the clubs here. That's where I think the twist and evod setup is going to shine. Please do let lend me some info on some preferred compact devices. It would be greatly appreciated. :toast:
