New to ECF, somewhat new to vaping & have questions

I had quit smoking over 10 years ago & started up again, but didn't want to continue, so tried Blu cigs. That did the trick, but didn't like the favors after a couple of months. However, I did (& still do) like how it feels like I'm smoking a cigarette. I don't care for the tanks or having to push a button b/c it just doesn't feel the same. Did a lot of research and tried TONS of pre-filled cartomizers, but they all lacked the flavor I was hoping for. See, I never liked the taste of tobacco, even though I smoked for 12 years & I absolutely HATED the smell of cigarette smoke. So, going this route was the perfect option. I researched again and learned how to fill empty cartomizers myself with e-liquid. This has been a much better experience. My only quandary is finding the right e-liquids to satisfy my taste. I find that most of them simply don't have enough flavor. Right now, I'm using liquids from ECBlends b/c they allow you to add sweetener or customize your favors. The only thing is they don't seem to taste so great after a while. Not sure if this is me or the liquid. I want to go down from 12mg to 6mg of nicotine, but when I do, I get next to no throat hit & the flavor isn't as strong. However, 12mg is a little high & throat hit is a bit too strong. Where can I find really sweet e-liquids that have a strong enough flavor and throat hit to satisfy my apparent picky tastebuds?

Welcome to ECF! PG seems to make the throat hit stronger, VG seems to make the hits smoother. I use 50/50 24nic. And my hits are perfect. I started at 36-38 nic for a few months, just to get myself past those nasy cravings/de-tox. Once I got myself over the hump were I did not even think about cigs I lowered to 24. In the future I would like to drop it even more. My body/mind will let me know when it's time.

I do most all of my 'e-cig shopping' at Tastypuff. They have e-juices as well as 'flavor booster juices'. They have three different nic levels (and I don't know if this will change), 0mg, 10mg, 21mg. The PG/VG ratio is about 50/50 according to a lady there (Erin), and they are working on a VG only line of e-juices.

You want a little more PG it sounds like. PG carries flavor better then VG. PG also gives great throat hit. VG makes way more vapor then PG so you will still want some VG for clouds. I would try something like 70/30 PG/VG. Also are you planning to go all the way to 0 nicotine? If not I wouldn't worry about getting down to 6 mg of nic. I have never been able to go lower then 12 mg for that same reason. I am a throat hit junkie threw and threw. I never plan to quit vaping though so 12 mg is just fine for me. I actually use 18 so I get better throat hit. What is your goal as far as nicotine over time?

When my daughter and I were using cigalikes with cartos, we liked PG/VG ratios anywhere from 80 pg/20 vg to 65 pg/35 vg. Anything within those ranges gave us flavor, vapor and throat hit that we were pleased with. We were also both using 18 mg nicotine. We got our eliquids from VaporBomb and Mt. Baker Vapor. Both sites are very customizable and offer a good range of flavors.
