I decided to give the njoy Npro starter kit a try, it was too hard to pass up on for $20 at 7-11. I have a few questions about maintenanceing the e-cigarette. One of the cartridges started to taste really bad after a 4-5 days, I could smell the nicotine from the cartridge, it is not a friendly smell. Now the manual says a cartridge is about 2-3 packs of cigarettes, I don't vape all day so I don't understand why my cartridge went bad in 5 days. I read that it could also be the atomizer that's causing this bad taste, so I put it under hot water and rinsed it for a bit. I'm not sure if I harmed the device cause I then found out the atomizer and battery should be detached and the battery itself should not touch water... But the njoy npro doesn't seem to have a separate atomizer and battery. Any tips would be helpful to prolong the use of the cartridges. Thank you.

Here is the device I have, I'm assuming the white part is the battery and atomizer? or am I wrong? Should I place the plastic caps over the cartridges like it's shown in the picture when I'm not using the cigarette?

Hi aloe. Welcome to ECF.

The manual WAY overstates the number of cigs to cartridges. At a guess, the bad taste is due to the cartridge being dry, the nicotine doesn't have a very strong smell. Toss that cartridge and use a new one.

I think the NPro model is a RN4081 , and you can find out more information about it in this subforum RN 4081 *Super Mini*

The atomizer and cartridrige are one piece (cartomizer) and separate from the battery. You're correct, the battery (white cylinder) shouldn't be rinsed.

Hey Aloe!
Wow $20 at the 7 Eleven? Nice price to give it a first try! :) Yeah I do think that some brands out there over estimate how long a cart will last. As for me, I have a different kind, the DSE801 and I am refilling my carts 3-4 times a day! ( I do vape heavy) As for cleaning Ive read on there that you can rinse the carts in hot water and let air dry on a towel over night, from the looks at your pics that would be the orange part, try that and see if it helps! If not they do have a whole section here on the forums devoted to cleaning these devices! Good luck! :D

Hi, I started out with the Njoy NPro too. (Only I paid $60 for the kit locally!) And there is no way that a cartridge is equal to one package of cigarettes, let alone 2-3 packs of cigarettes! (They lie). What happened was that the cartridge was dry and you needed to put another one on. There were 3 parts to the e-cig in my kit-the battery which is plain white, the atomizer which was "gold", and the cartridge which was "orange". When the cartridge was in place, the atty just looked like the thin gold band of a cigarette. If you ran water through the atomizer without removing it from the battery, you probably fried the battery. What you were tasting was the burnt cartridge and/or atty. I never was able to get the cartridge to last more than a few hours. When it starts to drop off significantly in taste and vapor, it's time to change it (or try adding more e-liquid if you have any) Sounds like you were actually smoking the e-cig because stuff was actually burning.

Hi,
My friend encouraged me to go on youtube and watch the videos by Doctor Vapor who is a doctor and has instructional videos based on what you what to know. Once you get past the beginning music and ugly introduction (scary pictures), his instructional videos are very good. Stay with it and you will not be disappointed.

That's a typical rebrander lie.

Cartomizer = maybe 4-6 cigarettes? You got 5 days out of a cartomizer without refilling it? Wow

Also, rebranders often sell cartomizers that are purposely harder to refill (they use hard cap or glued hard cap cartos). Cartos can be refilled with ejuice some number of times before they die or get singed. Just don't burn them dry, refill before dry. Get some decent soft-cap cartos and refill them yourself.

So this is the Njoy Npro? That's an RN4081

Hi, Aloe! Welcome to the forum!
What has been said about the bad tasting cartomizer is correct - it's dry. No cartridge or cartomizer (which has both the eliquid and the atomizer in the same unit) lasts nearly that long. Most users guess at the equivalence being about one cartomizer= 5 to 10 cigs depending on make and model. The Npro is probably closer to the 5.
What hasn't been said is that they can be refilled for a lot less than they cost to replace. There are a lot of suppliers listed in that section of the forum who carry eliquids in 5 to 30 ml sizes. I am not familiar with the Npro, so I do not know how easy or hard they are to refill. But usually, you can just pop off the cap at the mouthpiece end with a paper clip, and drip 10 or more drops into the filler until it looks quite wet but not pooled. Then put the cap back on and enjoy! You might have to blow out any excess by putting either end of the cartomizer into your mouth, covering the other end with a tissue or paper towel, and blow moderately. Then you are good to go!
Cartomizers do burn out eventually, however, and have to be replaced. But they are usually good for 5 to 10 refills - as long as you use the same or a similar flavor. Mix too many flavors in the same carto, and it will start tasting kinda weird.

Cartomizers are the combined cartridge/atomizer (2-piece). If you purchase cartridges, you'll also need atomizers (3-piece).
You can use any cartomizers (or carts and atomizers) that are compatible with the RN4081 model.

You should be able to pry the cap off the cartomizer and drip liquid into the filling to refill.

The NPro is a two piece I think. Is it possible I purchase cartomizers from Joye and use it with my Npro battery? I don't even think I can refill these prefilled cartridges from Njoy.

No. The Joye cartos won't fit on the NPro unless you have an adapter. I THINK that the NPro is an RN4081. You would need an RN4081 to 510 adapter. Or you can look here for more carts... RN4081 (Njoy NPRO or SmokingEverywhere Gold) You would have to add your own juice.

I started with the Npro, and it is the 2 piece, and is a RN4081. The cartomizers that come with it are hard tips, which means the end cap will not easily come off. However, they can be refilled using the condom method. If you want some better tasting cartomizers, get'em at unrealcigarettes, and the end cap will come off theirs.

Thanks a lot for the information. Are these the cartomizers that can be refilled by prying off the end cap? All in one cartomizer for RN4081 (Njoy NPRO or SmokingEverywhere Gold) electronic cigarette

How do you fill it using the "condom method"? Is there an instructional video you can link me to? Thanks

Yes, those will work, and the end cap comes off. If you take the end cap off, there might be another "ring" that will have to come out. Then you can just drip the the liquid onto the filler. If there is not another "ring", and all you see is the filler, just go ahead and drip the liquid onto the filler until it becomes slushy like.

For the condom or end cap refill method, keep the rubbery piece that's on the mouth end of the cartomizer. Take that end piece and drip about 20 drops into it. Slowly insert the mouth end into the liquid. This will force the liquid into the cartomizer. When you see liquid start to come out of the hole in the battery end, it's full. I always keep a couple of paper towels handy when I use this method. I fold one into a square, and put the end cap on it, so if any liquid spills out of the end cap, it will be absorbed by this paper towel. The other towel is used to wipe the juice off the just filled cartomizer. After the carto is filled and wiped, I blow through the mouth end to get rid of any excess liquid. You can blow it into the paper towel, or do like I do, blow it out into a sink, and then turn the water on to drain it away. Wash your hands as well, as you'll probably get some liquid on them. Some people wear nitrile type gloves when refilling. Let them sit a few minutes before using. There are videos on youtube, if you look for "condom method for filling cartomizers". Oh, you will probably "spill" some of the liquid until you get the hang of it.
