hello all. 11 days ago I had 20 cigs left in my packet, went to the shop to buy a packet and they asked for £10.07. I bought the packet of 20 and thought really hard. Made a trip to the Ur vapours shop and bought a 40w and a 60w ecig. Still have 5 cigs left but tried one yesterday and it tasted terrible. The only effects I have felt is dreams, dry throat and reaching for the lighter to light the ecig. I do feel better and those last 5 are going in the bin. I am 70 years old and was on 30/40 per day for nearly 50 years, it was costing me £100 per week, any help for new members would be appreciated.

Hello there :) Congratulations on making the switch. There are a few people who have experienced some degree of side effects mainly as there are so many chemicals in tobacco, I'm not really one of them so I can't advise much. I did find I had a bit of dry throat though, it takes a while for your body to get used to not having smoke but also e-liquid is slightly dehydrating. As a general rule you want to be drinking more water than you normally would to compensate, especially if you are having dry throat issues. Hopefully some others will have some suggestions for the dreams, no idea about those personally. If there is anything you are stuck with, you have any questions or are having any problems there is always someone happy to help. Welcome to ECF.

Way to go Ann, and welcome to ECF.
Sounds like your off to a great start. I would like to make one suggestion about your bodies need for additional water. The ingredients in your e liquid will dry you out a little.
Some good links referenced above and feel free to ask away when the spirit moves you.
Hope you enjoy your journey

There might be some ups and downs or anxiety attacks or phantom physical symptoms. That might go on for some months but it passes. After nearly 23 months I find vaping to be an entirely superior experience, meaning I'm relapse proof. I'm saving nearly all the money it cost to smoke. My cost for a year supply of DIY e liquid ingredients is $30. The money saved is important, just in case we live longer.

Welcome to ECF and congrats on the switch, Ann!

The only effects I have felt is dreams, dry throat and reaching for the lighter to light the ecig.

No idea about the dreams, but if they are good dreams, welcome the side benefit. :D

For the dry throat, as others suggested, drink more water.

Reaching for a lighter? That may just be the start! Wait until you try to vape your remote or change channels with your mod!

Enjoy your new life! :vapor:
