Hi Carol, and welcome. Everything has it's day and cartos are slowing becoming a dying breed. Hot tank items now are the Aspire Nautilus tank which uses a dual bottom coil and (take your pick here, there are many to choose from) the Kanger Aero tanks; it also uses a bottom coil. Good thing about these is there is little priming involved; pretty much just fill and go. Also you can switch flavors quickly unlike with a carto.
Hope this helps a little.

I don't mean to sound like a broken record because I made this similar comment somewhere else this evening, but it applies. May I recommend the Viva Nova? Out of all my tanks this is the one I've found has the least problems. There's no leaking, dry hits, gurgling, flooding, burning, needs very limited twirling, you can practically hold it upside down and it doesn't leak. I think I paid something like $12 for it from Got Vapes and I'm very happy with it. I love my other tanks as well but am finding this one to require the least maintenance.

+1 on the cartotank idea. No need to fill the large cartos with syringes anymore. No maintance. Just replace the carto every 2 - 3 weeks.

Hi! I've been on ecigs for the past year and a half, and I started with the Joye 510 and have gradually worked my way to an ego (1100mah) with clearomizers. I'm loving the Kanger Evods. They're easy to fill, look great on an ego battery, and I haven't had any gurgling or leaking. They're bottom coil, which means I don't have to constantly tip my ecig to saturate the wicks when my liquid is getting low.

They've come out with Evod 2's, but from what I've read they're a more expensive version with just more hassles. The original evod is bottom filled, so the drip tip doesn't come off. The evod 2 is also bottom filled, but you can take off the drip tip, and apparently some people have issues with the tip fitting well. The evod 2's are also I believe "duel coiled" which is supposed to produce more vapor because more liquid is being heated, but it means you go through juice faster, and from what I've read, people haven't seen too much of a difference in quality of vape from the evod or evod 2. So there's my 2 cents! They're usually 6 or 7 bucks, and last months if you clean them, and I've seen them for as low as 5. You can replace the heads (the part where the wick is) very easily too, and a 5 pack of those are usually 5 or 6 bucks. All in all I'm glad I made the change! Hope this helped!

My daughter and I were using cigalikes with cartomizers for about 2 years, and enjoying it. They helped keep us from going back to smoking after having quit cigarettes 7-8 years ago. We recently switched to Kanger Evod kits because some of the juices we liked clogged the cartos like nobody's business, and we were tired of having to replace cartos often. We also got a Kanger Protank Mini 2 for each of us, for use with the tank cracker juices. About a week ago, I ordered a Kanger Evod 2, a glass tank like the Protank Mini 2, for each of us. I did not want dual coils, however. According to Sweet-Vapes, the base from the regular Kanger Evod tanks will not work with the Evod 2. They did, however, state that the base for the Evod 2 is similar to the base for the Kanger Protank Mini 2. I got 2 Kanger Evod 2 units and 2 Kanger Protank Mini 2 bases from Sun Vapers, and we have been using them with our single coils for about a week now with no problems. Having the glass tanks is really nice, since we do not have to worry about what juice we are using. We wound up throwing one of our original Evod tanks out after my daughter put Mt. Baker Vapor Wild Cherry in it. She did not realize it is on the tank cracker list until it wrecked her tank. At least it is fairly reasonable to replace.

I'm still trying to figure out how you have been vaping so long (which is wonderful BTW) and have not upgraded to a longer battery life pv. Evidently you do not use your pv as much as I do. I'm a ProTank and ProTank mini kind of girl and used the for along time but I have tried other things. Always go back to the PT's. The mvp2 is awesome if you are looking for something easy to use and has great battery life.

Welcome and I'm glad you are here and looking forward to reading about what you get next. :) I would give anything if I had been vaping since 2009. That is fantastic. congrats.jpg

im a die hard PT II guy, and that's what I use for all my main stay liquids..........

but when experimenting or need a change for a little bit, I keep to cartos...... I treat them pretty much as disposables....

shame if they are getting hard to find, my opinion is that they do have a purpose........

aren't they what is used on a cigalike? can't see them getting rid of them altogether .......
