Personally, I think the type b atties are the best. The cylinder shaped ones with a 2.5ml cart. Low resistance cylinder atties are just plain good.
Aside from that, your looking more for tanks and mods for more capacity or ease while driving. But 2.5 ml carts will handle ya for a while on a standard ego bat. No need to drip there, but they do have drip tips available if you insist. The carts work fine though.

Let's get throat hit out of the way first.

There are three primary factors that contribute to throat hit. Composition of the liquid. Wattage at the coil. And to a lesser extent, the nicotine level.

Regarding the liquid's composition. PG = more throat hit, less vapor. VG is the opposite. The cartos you're getting from GS are most likely filled with a 100% PG based liquid.

The wattage at the coil in the atty/carto determines how hot the coil gets. A hotter coil is going to produce hotter vapor, and you will feel that in the back of your throat.

Finally, the higher the nicotine level in the liquid, the more throat hit you're going to get from it. I find that this is a very minimal factor, but others claim otherwise. YMMV.

On to new devices then.

Sounds like maybe you want to explore the world of mods, perhaps bottom feeders specifically since you drive a lot and seem to be a dripper. Bottom fed devices are great for driving, because you can vape with one hand and keep the other on the wheel at all times. By far, the most popular bottom feeder is the REO. They have a huge following. I'd suggest checking the REO sub forum for more information.

REOS are fairly expensive though. If you want to get your feet wet with a bottom feeder without spending a lot of money to do so, Old Goat sells bottom feeder box mods for $30.

If bottom feeders aren't doing anything for you, there are tons and tons of different options when it comes to mods. Fixed voltage, variable voltage, small mods, large mods, etc. Trying to recommend something specific would be very difficult without knowing more about your unique preferences. My best suggestion would be to check out the E-cig Mod Database and see if anything catches your fancy. If you find something you like, search the forum to get more info on it or post up a new thread.

A passthrough is always good for driving. Here's a variable voltage passthrough which can get higher voltages than the regular eGo batt - hence better throat hit.... and when you get to where you're going, you can still unhook the usb and it will be fully charged.

eGo Variable Voltage 900mAh Passthrough

Dripping and driving really don't mix :) So the best bet is a big volume tank or cartomizer. If you don't like tanks, try the EMDCC (eGo mega Dual Coil Cartomizers) which some say have better throat hit than the tanks and can hold much ejuice - more than the B tanks. Unfortunately, the above vendor doesn't have those so:

Smoktek makes them but many vendors carry them. And they're cheap. The Dual coil results in an LR experience without the heat:

[this is the one you want - note that the connecter isn't viewable - there's a 'skirt' for the eGo batt connection - the ones that are viewable fit other 510 mods not the eGo - well they still connect but there's a gap....]
510 Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer - 1.6 ohm, 4.5ml, - Black w/tip

Also available at madvapes...
eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer

...and liberty flights. (20% discount at liberty flights - check the top left discount first)

Smok Tech eGo Dual Coil
Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - Smok Tech Cartomizers

If you don't want to go 'passthrough' but want to try variable voltage - I like these VV Rivas at liberty flights
Electronic Cigarette - Batteries - Variable Voltage Riva

All that said, I agree with the above posters - I love the Reo mini for a bottom feeder - great for driving as well. Pair that with a cisco 306lr (or similar) and a good drip tip (I like 'the cannon' from cherry vapes) and you have the next best thing to dripping without any filler.
