Hello all. I am new to the forum and I am getting alot of good information here. Thank you for that.

I am new to the vaping experience, an ex smoker of 20+ years it was a hard move but when my 3 year old told me "daddy stink bad" I had enough. I went to a smokeshop and bought a EGO CE4 starting kit with two bottles of vape and started from there. Ohhh I think a monster was born.

I am now looking at others and wanting mods (as I have seen the "only one more mod" statement come up I can feel the pain)...

Here is my question. The EGO is nice and gives me the oral infactuation (hand to mouth) and the vape hit I am looking for. However I see others produce more vape than my EGO. For a starter what would be a good step up? I am looking for something that produces a good amount of vape but does not feel clunky in my hands (I dont really like the box type mods). Any suggestions?

Thanks

Welcome to ECF Mogar and congrats on switching to vaping !

Only one more mod.... sure sure.... LOL

I really like the iTaste VV V3 with an AeroTank mini.
It's small, USB recharge, VV/VW mod that give a nice amount of vapor.

Originally got mine because running out to the grocery store etc with my box mod MVP 2 was too clunky for me.

Hi Mogar, and welcome aboard! Great choice for your youngling and yourself.

Anything with variable control would be a step up. The VV3 is a nice unit, although at only 800 mAh you may want two :)

But VV/VW controls will allow you to adjust the vape to different flavors - they don't all "like" the same power level.

Not knowing the size of your hands, it's hard to recommend something that doesn't feel "clunky." Maybe head back to that shop and get a feel for what they might have - although you may not want to buy there, if their markup is too extreme!

Or just go with, say, a 1300 mAh Spinner, Twist, or similar. You'll get VV control with those, and they're about the same diameter as the ego, just longer. There are also VW models in that style.

Higher power is one way to get more clouds. Another is to get a juice with a higher VG content. Not all shops tell you the ratio of PG to VG, but most online vendors will let you specify it. In general, PG will have more flavor and TH, VG will have more vapor.

And you may want to look into a bottom coil topper, as well. Since you're starting out, it makes sense to try one. Many prefer the slightly cooler vape they give, and the fact that since gravity is the law, the juice sits on the wick and coil, and doesn't have the tendency for dry hits the top coils do. (Although the tilt and roll process on the top coils helps there.)

Welcome! And congratulations on making the switch!
Lot of great people and good information here! You already got some good suggestions, but I will warn you, everybody has their own opinion as to the best set-up! I have two different set ups that I use depending on what I am doing (staying around home, or out and about).

The general out and about set up is an EVOD Twist (a variable voltage "stick" battery) with a Kanger Mini-ProTank2. I find it easy to carry in my pocket, easy to use and generally just convenient! My hanging around the house set up is a Tesla (a mod with variable voltage and wattage, although I hardly ever use the wattage adjustments, with a battery that can be changed and recharged) with either a Kanger ProTank2 with an Aero base or an Aero tank on it.

Both serve me well. I will probably make my next purchase a Provari based on the research I have done.

Good luck finding the set up that works well for you, and enjoy!!

Get the MVP2, It's Variable voltage AND variable wattage. It's wonderful! I promise you you will not be disappointed with the innokin MVP2. It's a lot smaller than it looks and fits so perfectly in the hand
It gives out a perfect vape! Just check out reviews on the innokin mvp2. They are great reviews because this is a great device! I bought mine from my vape store online because they have great prices lightening fast shipping and most importantly sell GENUINE products. I guarantee you will love the innokin MVP2. I wish I'd got mine sooner ! You will absolutely love it! Check it out at my vape store online. You Will Be Glad YOU did!!!

lots of great advise here, please keep them coming, I will look into all of them. One thing I did forget to ask is this...

I have had one container "split" in my pocket. It was a top feed wick "clearomizer" type and it looked like it had no threads on the lower section and just popped off. I do want to be able to fit it in my pocket without worying about it tilting and leaking out or easily seporating and spilling out the juice onto my leg.

Actually the eGo style batteries you now have are the same, or extremely similar, to any and all other battery holders, AKA Mod's.

It is not the battery that produces more or less vapor. It is the Atomizer attached to the battery and the coil resistance along with airflow through, around, the coil and wicking material and is also greatly determined by the e-liquid you are using, percentage of PG to VG.

VG giving off more vapor than PG.

I personally was on a More Vapor quest in the earlier days of my vaping, Not Smoking, journey (yes even though I'm only 54 days from my last cigarette). Then I came to realize it wasn't about the vapor production. It was GAS, Gear Acquisition Syndrome.

I am over that as I have way to must gear already. In fact I have so much this morning I emptied out 2 tanks and cleaned them so I could put them away for a rain day or to give to someone starting out.

It's not about Vapor or GAS. It is about NOT SMOKING anymore.

Best of luck to you on your quest and remember, as said by Rip Tripper.

Smoking is DEAD, Vaping is the Future and the Future Is Now.

As for good clearomizers the Aspire ET-S glass atomizers and the kanger Mini Aerotank. I at this time I would lean to the Kanger mini Aerotank with the newest Kanger Dual Coil heads.

Either of those will fit on your present eGo style batteries and fit in your pocket. But both have Glass tanks, the Aspire ET's are also surrounds by a metal sleeve, so they can break if something strikes the pocket you are carrying it in.

The itaste vv/vw is a good step up. I picked up one to upgrade my twists almost a year ago. The shortcomings are battery life and the fact that the battery isn't replaceable. The device has a much shorter useful life than mods with separate batteries. I noticed mine not charging as well in under 8 months. The plus side is a really small package for vv/vw and USB charging port. They aren't very expensive (less than $30 on Fasttech).

I have a Zmax mini and SID with different sized battery tubes that I really like. They are both entry level mods for the most part. My SID has had a ton of use over the last year with zero reliability problems. Vamo is another fine choice for entry level mod.

If you upgrade, I highly recommend getting something with variable wattage. It makes life so simple because you take resistance out of the equation for the most part. A 7 watt vape will be pretty much the same with a 1.8ohm coil as a 2.5ohm coil. It can be a set and forget thing for the most part.

Sounds like you have / had the true CE4, which is really a disposable item anyway. Not possible to put in a new head. Pant pocket carry is always a risky endeavor, and I don't think there's anything that is truly impervious to being bent. But the mini PT would, I agree, probably be a bit more resistant. There are some in the ARO line that are pyrex and metal clad that may work for you as well.
