new to making ejuice

I'm looking at making my own e juice , currently have DNA 30 with the Atlantis tank and juice is getting expensive, I found a site where I can get everything I need but when I added the nicotine to my cart it requires me to choose a base, pg or vg, but what I have read so far you mix pg and vg then add flavor and then add pure nicotine. But after reading some of the post on here handling pure nicotine is stupid, so my question is I want to do a 50/50 pgvg with 18 nicotine level, so what base do I get and do I still need to buy pg and vg mix?
Any information would be greatly appreciated

The nicotine base is diluted with pg or vg before you buy it. Consider what you are using for flavoring (it'll be pg or vg as well), then order your nic in either base so that you can reach your intended ratios... you'll also need just pg or just vg to further dilute your mixture.

I order 50/50 nicotine base since I mix at 50/50. Keeps everything nice and even. Search hard enough and you will find vendors that sell it. I buy 60mg nicotine and dilute it down based on who I am making juice for. There are plenty of ejuice calculators, some advanced and some basic, that will allow you to plug in what you want to make, and spit out the measurements.

I've always found it easier to work with nic base in PG. It's thinner and easier to syringe and measure in beakers and such. Last batch I got the nic in VG as lately I tend to prefer max VG liquids - and it's a little trickier to measure. Nothing crazy, but it just takes a little more care.

But it's good advice to head over to the DIY forum, there's a ton of information over there.

Simple answer is if you buy your nic base at 100% PG, add say 20% PG based flavorings, you will only have to add VG to the mix to get to your 50/50 ratio. There are other ways of getting to this though, including buying your nic base in most of the different ratios available and adding either straight PG or VG... so head over there to the DIY forum, do some reading, get an e-liquid calculator like eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator and enjoy.

This is the place where I am looking, is this place good or is there better
Nicvape

Just a word about Nicvape, they had a cyber monday sale messup. Basically they allowed a bunch of people to order stuff at discounted rates, and then cancelled their orders when they realized a 'mistake' had been made. They upset a lot of people.

Also I think their stuff is crazy priced. $9 for 15ml of flavoring to me defeats the whole purpose of DIYing in the first place.

Finally, disclaimer - I have NOT tried any of their products or services. They may well be the best company out there with the most amazing flavors - so as usual YMMV.

Most flavorings are PG base, and the highest nic base one can get, without a license, is 100 mg nic,10%. I prefer my nic base to be PG. Thinner, easier to draw and mix. I mix me juice at 70% VG, 12 mg nic, so by time the recipe is calculated need very little extra pg to the mix.

use something like the e-juice me up Calculator, plug in your recipe, set your preferred ratios, push calculate, jot down the numbers, and it's off to the labe we go.

Just mixed up 500 ml, of Mad Eye's Pumpkin Juice, and damn, that's one fine vape.

Yeah, when I went to the Russian and started vaping at 15 watts and more, quickly jumped on the DIY juice wagon. Now me casual vape is 50 watts, and use 15-20 ml of juice a day. But heck, that's only like $2. of product. :D

Wizard Labs is me one stop DIY juice supply stop. Great prices and fast service. Orders over $60 ship free. :D

Vape long and Prosper.!!!!

Vapor Shots Nicotine Liquid | Flavorless | 120ml | 18mg

Ha, found 50/50. JUst add flavorings. I mean it this time.

By the time flavorings are added, it's going to be a lower nicotine strength than 18mg and a different ratio than 50/50. Which is why I'd always recommend using an e-liquid recipe calculator like e-juice me up linked in my previous post. If you are going to do the work, you may as well get more out of it.

Also, buying nic in this strength might be good for a quick test to see how things come out - but the real savings are when you buy it at higher concentration levels. You can get a gallon of 100mg / l nicotine from https://www.myfreedomsmokes.com/nicotine-base-flavorings/nicotine-solutions.html for just $50.

Remember 100mg nic can be dangerous, so keep it out of the reach of kids and pets, use gloves and eye protection, wash off spills immediately. Just be smart and safe.

Im aware of that, I mix all of my own from scratch using 60mg juice. BUt for someone that really needs simplicity that's the quickest way to go. Ya it'll drop you nic a bit, but stil. Mixing properly isnt for the lazy or uneducated.

My post was directed at the OP as they might not know that they'll end up with 60/40 ratio at around 14mg.
