New to mech mods - Magneto by Smok

hi folks, new to the mech mod scene. and had a few questions concerning my mod. I have a magneto mod with an Omega atomizer. I'm running a 0.5 ohm coil and 35A Efest 2500mAh pumps. Everything is firing right but but noticing warm spots when firing. Not on the switch but on the tubes where they connect. There was someone else who posted this issue but I can't post on his yet. I think it's because of the way the mod is constructed but not 100% sure. Would the telescoping tunes be the cause? Anyone getting this issue? Anyone with a different telescoping mod getting this issue? Is this normal on telescoping mods?

You might have poor contact in the threads of the telescoping tube. This could defiantly lead to a bottle neck situation of the current going through the mod. Usually a good cleaning will help this out a lot. I would also suggest going to home depot and picking up some noalox and apply it to all the threading on the mod except the 510 atty threads. It will also help out with the conductivity of the mod, its in the electrical section. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ideal-NOALOX-4-oz-Anti-Oxidant-Compound-30-026/202276208

Those spots probably are points where the electrical contact is not perfect;
since you're using a 0.5 ohm coil, a contact on the mod that has 0.1 ohm is going to be significant.

the important thing to do is to take out the battery when you feel the tube warm or at least feel the actual battery to see if it is hot. If it is, you have a bad battery or undercharged battery.. This can be a bad thing. If it is just barley warm it is probably ok.. As you are running a low ohm atty. Like others said it could just be the atty that gets hot and the tube is acting as a heat sink and absorbing the heat from the atty..

Will pick this up tomorrow. I did a thorough cleaning last night and it definitely helped. The battery itself is not getting hot, just warm like when you close your hands on it for a while warm so that's a good thing.

sure it's just not the atomizer heating up the mod?? happens to me often, time to pick up the other mod when that happens and let it cool off.

I thought this also, but I have the top post screwed all the way and the atomizer has about a 1 mm gap between the mod itself. It could be traveling down the 510 connection but the actual heat / warmth is coming from the joints between the mod and the telescoping tube.
