New to mechanicals. Battery question.

I just ordered an EA mod and its coming in the mail. I have an AW IMR 18490 battery and I just ordered a kick. Can the EA use 18650+kick or will it only take 18490+kick?

I was also considering buying the 2cent fuse and a protected battery, but is that overkill? Or if you have a protected battery do you still need the fuse?

Don't own a EA, not sure about the battery configurations possible. I believe using the kick does provide another level of protection. I use a P-18 with a 18650 without a Kick or 2cent fuse. I don't over drain the batteries and always meter them after charging. So far no troubles.

I was thinking of just using the kick, and probably pass on the fuse.

IMO there is to much difference between IMR batteries and Li Ion batteries to even consider Li Ion bats in a mechanical mod. I also think fuses are a good idea with mechanicals, especially if you're into doing your own coils. I have three mechanicals, and have fuses in them all.., kick or no kick.
