New to Mechs

Hi everyone, I would like to start off by saying I am not new to e-cigs, but the mechanicals in general. I've been vaping on my mvp 2 for quite a while and am relatively pleased, but I've been wanting to go to that next step in vaping and hit the mechs. So today, I went out and purchased the Vmod XL (a rather cheaply built thing in my opinion but, eh) since the store was having a half off sale. I took it home charged the battery for around 4 hours, and plopped it in and what I got was a mediocre tasting flavor from the included cartomizer and a vapor production equal to about just under what my mvp can do. So here is where my questions begin. (Since this is my first post, I am not sure as to whether this should go in a different section and I apologize beforehand) This thing is different from other mods I have seen. Not only does the metal covering pretty much feel like plastic (on the assumption it isn't) It has a bottle on the side to bottom feed the atty or carto by flipping the thing upside down and giving it a small squeeze. This makes me wonder if that means I wouldn't be able to put the average tank/RBA/RDA on there. From what I gather, almost any mechanical, as long as it's well built has the potential to output just as much as power as a different one so in that case I assume this mod is fine. My main question I guess is will I be able to put a tank on this that will provide me with a better flavor and vapor production (I say tank because that's what I would prefer...maybe the Atlantis because I've tried it on my friends Aspire CF (i think is what it's called))even though it appears to be an oddball out of mechanicals. thanks for any help :).

I have a V-Mod XL. As Ocelot said, it is considered a "bottom feeder" box mechanical mod. It has a rather odd shape for the 510 connection (sunken in the top cone), so the only thing you can use with it is a cartomizer or factory made dripping atomizer. Without major modding, you won't be able to use a rebuildable atomizer or other "tank" (clearomizer or cartotank) delivery devices on the V-Mod (the top cone will prevent using these, as it blocks the 510 connector).

This device has its fans. It is very pocket-friendly. I got about two days worth of vaping on a single AW 18650 IMR battery, so it is battery efficient. I found out I'm not really a fan of bottom feeders; mainly because I like to change flavors frequently (by changing tanks) and I found it a pain to remove the outer casing and the liquid bottle to change flavors quickly & conveniently in mine.

I only used mine for a few months, then moved on to other things. I preferred the dripping atomizer over the cartomizer in mine. Mine developed some leaking inside after a couple of months. It's a cheaply made mod for a cheap price; you get what you pay for.

I apologize for those two issues (No questions until 5 posts; wrong thread), and I appreciate the answers from you all. I probably won't be very regular on here, namely because I find that most of my free time goes to watching movies while vaping:p but this seems like a nice place to settle in and call home. I guess I'll mention that I have purchased a "sentinel m16" off of fast tech for $10.15 since my last post because several of my friends recommend them for cheap clones. Guess that's it, see y'all on the forums :vapor:

Hi chochang and welcome to ECF!

I think there might be a slight misunderstanding. The rule is not "No questions" - just no posting anywhere else but the New Members forum until 5 posts.

Feel free to post here in New members until you get your 5 posts in and the servers update you at 25 past the hour.

Here are some links to start you out:

1. New Members - "How many posts do I need to..."
2. How to do ECF - Avitar / Post Pictures / Signature
3. How to Add Images / Videos

Hope it helps and Happy Vaping!
