Best TANK for a k101 mech mod?

I'm looking into a mech mod, and I have a few questions. SONY US18650VTC3 1600mAh HIGH DRAIN 30A RECHARGEABLE Li-on 18650 Battery | VAPEHAPPYVAPEHAPPY im planning on using a couple of these batteries. I am some what new into sub ohm building, so I am going to hold off on the RBA's for a while, so I am planning on using a tank on the mech mod. My questions are what tank and what ohm coil should i use for the absolute most vapor production, and will this battery in the mod give off as much vapor as say a vv/vw mod such as an itaste mvp, or an evic? I really like the look and simplicity of a mech mod, and it seems like the way to go. I plan on switching from 40/60 pg/vg blend to 100 vg as well. I do not know too much about this topic, but I know that I do not feel comfortable for sub ohm building, but a nice mech mod and a tank is a start (at least i think), and eventually i may buy and build a dripping rba. Thanks for any info in advance!

You'll have a choice of clearomizers or cartotanks:

  • I'll suggest the Innokin iClear 30S clearomizer. It has dual top-coils with 16 wicks. The replacement coil heads are available in both 2.0 ohm and 1.5 ohm (warmer vape). iClear 30S review

Thanks for the help! I may decide on a protank 3, i have a few friends that love em, im definitely sticking to clearomizers, not cartos. Sorry, should have made that clear from the start

Just ordered a protank 3 for my Zmax. Really interested how the dual-coil setup performs over the 2. Kanger makes great stuff. I would personally recommend a vv/vw mod with those clearos though.

With RBA's and a multimeter you can make whatever resistance you want. There's no reason to jump into sub ohms until you're experienced and comfortable wrapping coils, checking for shorts and most importantly, with sub ohm, battery safety. I started with rebuilding protanks and keeping the resistance around 2. I'M NO BATTERY EXPERT, but the batt you linked to, I didn't see whether they were protected/unprotected/IMR's or what. For what those batts cost, I'd suggest getting aw imr 18650 1600 mah's, as they seem to be considered top of the line.

I had a K100 and Pro Tank-broke the K100

Now I have an EHPro and have used the Pro Tank, EVOD and Smoktech Aro tanks with it. All of them were used with 1.8 ohm heads--that is what the package stated but the Kanger heads were generally around 2 ohms. The Aro heads were 1.8 ohms which created a problem. At the beginning with a freshly charged battey (I use IMR batteries) it can burn the juice. Figure at around 4 volts the output is around 9 watts and will cook the juice. Once the first 10% of the charge is gone, it won't burn but just something that I noted with 50/50 VG/PG juice.

Maybe the power combined with such a small coil? Have the Aspire pryrex tanks on order complete with 1.8 ohm heads. Figure they should not burn the juice even with a fresh IMR 18650 hot off the charger due to their dual coil design. I'll find out this weekend when I get my vape mail.

Good to know I'm not the only person that uses clearo tanks on mechanicals--enjoy and let us know how it works out.
