I hope that someone here can help me figure out what is going on with this 5v juice box that i just made. I fallowed the steps in Dream's and Chain's tutorial.

When I went to take it on its madien voyage I screwed in a new 510 LR atty I had ordered and got only a little spirt of vapor and nothing else. Now the LR atty does nothing at all. I then screwed in a regular 510 and got only a little bit of vapor and then nothing, when this happens on the regular 510 the LED's fade and the whole device seems to shut down until I reset it by turning the master switch off and then back on.

I have no idea whats happening to this and now it seems my LR atty doesnt work at all even on my regular e-cig. As you can imagin this is very frustrating....

If anyone can give me some advice or has experienced this before and can give me some help it would be greatly appriciated

:edit:

forgot to mention that I got it to keep from shutting off if I just tap on the switch instead of holding it down, but I would like to just be able to hold it

also I know now not to use the LR, not that it matters cuz its already fried...

I've had this problem many times myself on my 510 mods, try gently prying up your center connector. If i'm right, and i'd put money on it, then it's shorting to ground, and this should correct it.. If this doesn't fix it, try replacing your connector. If this does fix it then don't screw your attys in until they stop, instead hold your switch and stop turning as soon as they sizzle.

Since you haven't posted pictures we don't really know what you have but...
The threaded connector (Negative) that you screw the atomizer into should have a silicon grommet in the hole in the center and a small tubular connector inside that for your positive connection. This is usually called the "center connector"

Is this your first mod? If it is, you might want to make a 3.7 box first. It gets easier after you get the first one working. Battery, switch, atty, vape.

OK, so you can check the resistance on your atomizers and see if you fried them.
I suggest you read this thread
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/18409-how-build-nicostick.html
It's the best place to start modding. You get comfortable with all the basics and have something that works while you build your 5V.
You will also understand how to bypass what you have to make it a 3.7 and see if it works that way. You could have a bad regulator, bad switch, or just bad soldering. So start with the simple box first. There are lots of other threads that explain EVERYTHING you could ever want to know about modding. It just takes some time to sift through it all.
You never did tell me what your "sealed connector" was.

First off LR atties are not meant for 5V systems... period. There have been a number of posts with problems with those regulators and Joye atties just like you described. Try some higher ohm knock-offs (3Ω or so) and see if they work.

WillyB is so right on that. I have a few atomizers that will do this to mine. Well one I know of. Trips all 3 of my 5 volt mods using that regulator.

If you are having to tap on your switch to get it to work, that could mean a couple of other things too.
1-your switch is bad. Just because it's brand new doesn't always mean it works right.
2-you could have a loose connection & the tapping is jiggling it & making it connect.
What kind of switch are you using? It may not be able to handle a 5v setup.

Another thing, post a picture of the inside of your box, maybe something is hooked to the wrong place. It's easy to do & even easier to fix once someone spots it & points it out. You'll need one more post before you can post a picture, gotta have 15. Then on your next post, scroll down the page & click on "manage attachments". Click on browse & go to where you saved the picture on your computer. Double click it & then click on upload. Sorry if you already know how to do the pics, just trying to cover all the bases.:)

Don't get discouraged, once you get the first couple of mods made & working, you won't be able to stop. And, you'll look at dollar stores in a whole new light!:)
