well basicly im new to vaping all togather i have known about ecigs for a few years and finaly made the switch 13 days ago and LOVE IT havnt had a analog since. i guess you could say i hit the ground running i recieved my starter kit from v2cigs on 12-6 made an 83 dollar order from mad vapes and a 106 dollar order from smokteck 12-9 an 86 dollar order from mad vapes 12-16 getting ready to place another v2 order plus getting mad vapes gift cards for xmass already have wish lists full at mv and st lol any ways about a week in i decided to build a box mod for 1 i love building stuff and two i wanted a mod that used NIMH batts to go along with my lith ions and my pt just because i wanted some thing for back up that i could obtain batts very quick and easily for. its a 4 aa box hollowed out with 2 aaa double batt holders wired in series for 4.8 volts i used a 510 to ego atty adaptor/connector 780 res to led and a push button it works awsome but the thing is it works with a ego vision clearomizer of course it works with a smoke teck 510 tank but it wont work with my boge 510 carts can any 1 help me with this i havnt recieved my latest shipment so i dont have any thing else to try on it at the moment and i realy want to use carts with a drip tip and another thing i realy want the ego style carts but i cant seem to find 1 with the right res for 4.8 volts

Modding is a lot of fun. I've been cig free for 3 months and like you, started modding rather quickly. Like you were told, get your count up so you can get into the mod forum, lots of good info and some amazing stuff in there. Also, do a search for the PUCK. Based on what you said in your post, I kinda figured you already did, but there are 2 long threads that have a lot of info. My here's a lot of repeating in there, but read it all. My first mod was a Puck that I put together in a copper tube.

I think, as a beginner like yourself, the hardest thing is figuring out a new way to do an old thing. Example is my Puck. Everyone has put them into 1 or 2 battery/project boxes, I just had to be different. Used a tried and true method, the Puck...just wanted to package it differently. BTW, i vape my Puck everyday, it is one of my go tos.

Not sure how this is gonna be taken, but there are a few other modding boards out there. Do a search for Breaktru dot com. Breaktru is responsible for a great number of very nice mods, has a good handle on explaining how stuff is done, and is a member here also. A few of the vendors also have some modding boards. Another place to try for an easy wood mod would be Vaportalk dot com. Give them a shot. There is also a moderns database you can search for to help with ideas.

Hi Trend. Welcome to the ECF, And Welcome to Modding.....
On your 510 puck Mod I would suspect the center contact for the carto or the center contact down in the 510 connector is too shallow. The easy thing to try first would be to pull your center pin(on the carto) outward slightly. This is easily done by placing something firm(think straightened paperclip/toothpick/etc) in the center contact hole and gently rock the contact from one side toward the other whilst applying a light amount of pulling force. Go gently you only want it to move out less than a milimeter, just so the center contact appears to protrude from the outer thread when viewed from the side of the carto. Over the last few years I have noticed that if I use one carto/atty etc that has the center pin protruding then that one device on my PV will cause the need to re-adjust the center either inside the 510 connector or the other cartos that go on my device afterward. Pulling your pi n on the 510 connector is done in the same way just et something under one edge of the center connector and wiggle it outward ever-so-slightly and that should do the trick. Either one should get you vaping. The preferred one to pull out is up to you, I would suggest the carto first just because they are less expensive if you do pull it too much. Hope that helps.
