New to "pro" vaping.

I will start by saying I have been vaping for there months with a Blu starter pack (save your criticism I didn't know any better at the time) and have completely given up smoking.

Today I took a friends advice and bought a eGo cTwist 900ohm battery and a Kanger Protank (not a 2) and also have a CE4 that came with the battery and charger kit. So far I love it. I am not loving the juice the local vape store has but I will be getting something better soon. I also plan on learning how to rebuild my heads but that will come I time.

Can someone tell me what is a good setting for the Twist using the heads that come with the Protank? I am still unclear on the differences between 1.8 and 2.5 and how to tell which are which and what to set my Twist at. Currently I seem to be getting little vapor but as the new juice is stronger than I am used to with the Blu I don't mind the less vapor for now. I did go down from 24ml nic to 18ml nic switching from the Blu high nic carts.

Beyond finding a better quality juice I like I am pretty happy with the setup and excited to start learning all the tricks. Right now I am just very curious about the voltage setting.

Thanks for reading and any help.

Not criticizing here....i started with a BLU pack back in 2010 so we all have to start somewhere.

around 4V is good for me but you may be different. Just play around with the volts until you get the desired taste and vape out of your PV. I rebuild my heads and have them around 1.1 - 1.5 OHM so use the 1.8 and you will love it.

If you get over 4.0 volts you will burn those wicks out pretty quick. I would stay in the 3.3 to 3.8 range. The lower voltage you can live with and still enjoy your vape, the longer those wick will last you.

Learn to take the heads out and clean them every day or two. Keep some in a rotation. Enjoy !!

Blu is also 100% vegetable glycerin so it will produce nice vapor, the other stuff your using is likely a mix of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol (pg) does not produce as much vapor

Yeah I knew I would be going from VG to PG though I plan on getting a sampler with some PG, VG and PG/VG to decide what I like best. The amount of vapor I am getting right now is less important to me than finding a good flavor.

Could you maybe link me a good primer on cleaning the heads? This forum is a bit overwhelming at the moment. Thanks!

You can take the head out of the base and soak it in vodka for a couple of hours then rinse it with hot water and let it dry before you use it . That's the simplest method for now. Also go on youtube and watch some videos on dry burning coils , this will all get a lot easier for you very soon don't be intimidated or afraid to ask questions that's what this forum is for .

My method also. I just dont dry burn anything. I dont want to risk burning the wick. If you do, it will taste burnt from now on.

I have a shot glass in my kitchen, Before I went to carto tanks, I used seveal Protanks with different juices in each one. Anyway, the one I vape all day, I would go to the kitchen at some point every day, unscrew the head, throw it in the shot glass of vodka. I would then take the one from the day before out of the glass, get a mout full of water, blow the water through the BOTTOM of the head. I would then lay the head down on a paper towel that sits next to the shot glass and pick up one thjat has been drying from the day before.

This take all of one minute to do. It makes your vaping fantastic or "as good as you can get" from a stock Kanger head. I dont like mine to get clogged or stinky or gummy. It sounds ...., but I just like a good clean taste every day, all day.......and I like my stuff to last as long as possible.

Dont throw away your heads after they get unsatisfactory to you. Throw them in a drawer because sooner or later, when your bored, you will order a 5.00 roll of kanthal wire off ebay and twist up some cotton to make your own wick and then you will end up posting here that your kanger "tastes and vapes better than it ever had before .....and why didnt I do this sooner !!

Its the natural progression of things it seems here at ECF....

Its a journey...and can be very fun.

It wont be long until you will be telling all the noobs how to do this stuff and why their tank leaks, and what batteries are the best and all that jazz...and I will be getting in some of your posts and commenting om how Memorywillrust's post are right on !!

And that is the natural progression of things here also....

I hear ya, flavor is what I'm looking for, just my :2c: but 50/50 is a great starting point. I did like the cherry crush blu had but can't find it elsewhere, but I figure I can always get some blu cartos if I really want that flavor

Johnson Creek Smoke Juice is the brand of e liquid in Blu, and while their "Blu flavors" are proprietary and are only available in Blu cartos, they sell a liquid you can buy called "Rainier" that is EXACTLY like the Cherry Crush flavor (IMO)....you should try it!

I've only been at it for a month but I found that a "dry burn" once a week (YouTube it) works well for me. I use 1.8 coils and stay at or under 4 volts.
For juice I HIGHLY RECOMMEND www.seducejuice.com. everything that have is good. Try "snake oil" you won't be disappointed I promise. B-)

Oh and I do smoke 2 to 3 cigarettes a day still but they are not satisfying. Not sure why I still smoke though. I guess it's so I appreciate my pv more. Weird huh. Lol
