ProTank help

Hey folks!

Call me confused. I got a ProTank last week, and decided to save it to try with my big order of Boba's that just came today.

Well, it's not working, and I don't understand why -- just no vapor, nothing happening. I am using an EVOD battery which folks here assured me would fit the ProTank (and does thread). Same battery is working just fine on my EVODs. I tried two different, new heads.

I took the tank off and tried with just the head attached to the battery (juice was on the wicks) to see if anything was happening. When the tank is off, I do hear the slight crackling sound of the atomizer, but I saw no vapor. I tried threading it with and without the little sleeve adapter thing that came to fit the tank to the battery, didn't change anything.

What am I doing wrong here?

Remove the tank and then remove the center post on the atomizer head. You will see on top of the coil 2 very small wicks, try removing one and see if the wicking improves. If that doesn't help try removing the second one.

Boba's Bounty is 100% VG juice, very thick and dark. Follow antfuzz's advice and it should work.

Basically the Protank isn't wicking because the juice is too thick. Removing 1 of the top wicks should get some flow. After you refill it, tip it upright and check to see if bubbles appear. That means it's wicking. You could try a few primer puffs -- but be careful with those.

I've actually never been able to figure out how to get the center post off. Watched all the videos from Busardo and the vape lady very carefully, believe me, but no matter how I try (and I've tried with a bunch of heads, with pliers and without) I can't get it off. I'm not very handy with this stuff, heh.

I tried pulling out the top wick with tweezers. Didn't change anything. Nothing is happening once I get the tank on the battery.

To remove the center hosts take a pair of pliers and wiggle it back and forth.

Is the atomizer firing? Can you hear anything? Try to fire the atomizer without the center post on. If it's not firing the center post on your battery may be pushed down. You can try to wiggle it up by using a paperclip and pushing it side to side to raise it.

Yeah, I've tried -- like I said, I've watched the how-to videos a million times. Spent an hour with a pair of pliers just last night again trying to get the post off a few different heads to try a dry burn on a few of my gunked attys I've had sitting around as per the vape lady's video how-to. Can never do it. :( I'm really not very handy. Maybe it's lack of hand strength, I usually need help getting Pepsi bottles open too.

On the plus side, I did pull out the second wick with tweezers and now I'm getting a little something going. Progress! Thanks folks. :)

Now that the silly answers have been given........

Boba's is one of the thickest liquids on the market.
You will need to remove 1, possibly both flavor wicks to get it to properly wick.
Start by removing 1 flavor wick.

Remove base,
Remove pipe
Remove 1 top wick
Reinstall pipe and base
Test

To get thick liquid flowing DO NOT BLOW into pipe.
Wrap hand around Tank base, on battery and draw lightly 2-3 times
Press button and test vape. Repeat if needed

Blowing into the tank is not silly if you do it very very lightly. I've done it a number of times with great success. And by the way none of the other answers were silly except yours for calling other people's answers silly.

I'll share with you a couple of the "silly" things I did with my new Pro Tank before I got it to work properly. First, the instruction guide that came with it had pretty small pictures that were a little hard to decipher. I didn't realize the head had to screw into the base cap. I was just putting the post through the hole and then screwing it onto my battery. Therefore, no connection. No vape at all. My boyfriend took a look at it after I spent over an hour wondering what I'd done wrong, and he immediately put it together properly, handed it back to me, and looked at me like some kind of idiot. The second issue I had with it was after vaping with it off and on all day, but switching between it and a Vivi Nova loaded with a different juice (I always take a variety to work with me). Suddenly, I wasn't getting anything from it. Again, boyfriend to the rescue. The head had come unscrewed from the base just a little -- I'm guessing from frequent changing out -- and again wasn't making the connection. Just a little tightening, and I was back in business. Finally, and I learned this from watching a couple videos, NOT from the "all-knowing" bf, taking out a flavor wick or two does make a BIG difference. Especially if you're vaping a high VG juice like Boba's Bounty, at least one of the three flavor wicks that are directly over the coil needs to come out to get good flavor and vapor production. Wow, am I grateful for the ECF and people who aren't afraid to ask and answer questions. We're all in this together! I hope you've gotten your ProTank to work. I'm really loving mine!

This is what worked for me:

Try somewhat unscrewing the protank from the battery, just a little bit. i.e. dont tighten it all the way down.
In fact, now when i use my protank, the "cone"/"sleeve" thing still has enough room to unscrew itself from the ego-threads, just a little bit.

I realized originally, my protank wasnt firing about 25%~50% because i had "over"tightened.
I was literally driving myself to damn-near insanity trying to figure out what i was doing wrong.
Changed coils, same issues; tried different liquids, no improvement.

But alas, just slightly unscrewing the protank slightly from the battery did the trick.

Glad everything is working well for you now.

Rinse the wicks well in hot water every 2-3 tank fills and they will give you decent life span. Just switch wicks to all to clean one time to dry.

Happy Vaping!

Thank you Antfuzz, I'm sure others might agree.
Just saying, I read the post, payed attention to the facts and answered with well documented advice.
Sorry to those that disagree
