Whats the best tank for the Provari?

What else would I need with the Provari to get going?

What juices do you recommend to use with?

What batteries do you recommend to have as back up?

These are my personal opinions. But aerotank Mega tanks work awesome for me. And they are the same diameter as the provari so I think they look nice.

You would need batteries and a charger.

My favorite juices are:

Oh Face by Beantown Vapor
Big Willie's Custard
Sweet Tooth by Alpha Vape
Artemis by Cyclops Vapor
Cell Block Four by The Standard
Castle Long by Five Pawns

Only use AW brand button top batteries as recommended by Provape. They are only about $10 each and are advertised to last around 500 charges.

Enjoy your Provari!!! I love mine so much I now have three! LOL

I use kayfuns with my provari's. Hard to say what else you would need if we don't know what you already have. How about a ProVari ring? It's a ring that sits on top of the provari between the top and the atomizer to eliminate the gap caused by the taper in the top cap. Aw Imr batteries. I usually use my Provari with a kayfun that has a micro coil around 1.2-1.4 ohms and have it set around 3.6 volts.

I have used number of tanks with my ProVari; Aero tank, ProTank2 with Aero base, EVODs and a cart. But, by far, my favorite so far is the Russian! I liked it so much I picked up another one last weekend.

I have a 1.4 Ohm coil in it and I set the voltage at 2.9 (I like a cooler vape). The taste is incredible!

To put into a scale, with ten being my personal best:
10 - Russian
7 - Aero tank
6 - ProTank2 with Aero base
4 EVODs

I really haven't given the cart a good test yet so I didn't include it in the scale.

The ProVari really is a good unit and I think you will enjoy it with most anything.

Hey guys well I pulled the trigger and got a good kit off the bay, Came with everything I needed except the juice. What I would like to know is....

Whats the best Tank for the Provari?

Ask 10 vapers you'll get 12 different answers. Depends on your budget & preferences. The KFL is an awesome RBA for the Provari. For low to mid power vapers, it doesn't get much better. Cartotanks are nice too, you can get quality ones for fairly cheap from IBT. Other places like Phiniac & Gr-modders have some nice but more expensive ones. Iken cartos are the way to go with those. There's always a selection of clearos as well.

What else would I need with the Provari to get going?

You said it came with everything you need, but didn't elaborate. A topper, some batteries, a charger, a squirrel, some rebuilding supplies if you go with an RBA & cheese.

What juices do you recommend to use with?

Again, you'll get a huge variety of opinions on this one. Depends on what you like. Personally I'm a big fan of HHV.

What batteries do you recommend to have as back up?

AW IMR batteries. RTD sells guaranteed authentic ones for a good price. (watch out for counterfeits, there's a lot of them out there - never get them on ebay)

What settings does each person use and what not?

Depends on your taste. A good starting point is to take the resistance of your coil & add 2. If you have a 1.5 ohm atty, start at 3.5v. 2 ohms, start at 4v. If it's too hot, turn it down a little, too weak, turn it up a little. Repeat until you find a nice spot. Different liquids might need more adjusting than others. Personally I aim for 3.7 volts so the topper will be fine on my Poldiac as well. I like 2.2 ohms at 3.7v. That's pretty low for some people, but I enjoy it a lot.

Edit:
KFL - Kayfun Lite by Svoemesto
IBT - IBTanked
Iken - Ikenvape
RBA - Rebuildable Atomizer
HHV - Heather's Heavenly Vapes
RTD - RTDVapors

Didn't want to assume if you knew all those abbreviations or not. You can find them all with a quick Google search.

^^^^^^^ Lots of good info from Oz!

Congrats on your new Provari! Enjoy! :toast:

I will add that for a topper -you did not say whether you are new to vaping or if you have experience with different types of toppers. Explore your options and you will find what is right for you. Carto tanks with a good cartomizer are great on the Provari and not too hard to use.

The aspire Nautilus tank with the new BVC (bottom vertical coil) is a nice vape. The Nautilus now comes in regular size 5ml or mini size 2ml.

When trying eliquid options--my suggestion is to order sample sizes first and decide what you like best before you go for the larger sizes. There are lots of options--a few of my favorites:
The Plume Room
Heather's Heavenly Vapes
Halo
Good Life Vapor
Tasty Vapor
Insane E Liquid
5 Pawns

The Aero tank is the topper it came with & I'm going to assume the carto's are actually the heads for the Aero. I don't know much about clearos, so I can't really say too much more about it.

You're going to want at least 1 more battery, preferably 2. Don't buy or use a battery with "Fire" in the name. AW's are recommended. Check RTDVapor.com for an excellent price on a pair of AW 18490 IMR batteries.

Label the batteries (I like to mark the month/year & give them each a unique number). It's much easier to keep them all in rotation that way. 08/14-1, 08/14-2, etc. I write it on a very small piece of paper & use transparent scotch tape to stick it to the side.

Since you're new, you may want to listen to some suggestions on clearo's, since I'm not sure how good that Aero is or isn't. I hear a lot about the Nautilus though. You'll probably want 2 or 3 tanks to have different flavors going, so you can swap them out without having to empty a tank for a new one.

THanks for the replys.... This one didnt come with the Aero tank, just the Kanger one I posted about. Is there another Tank you recommend? I am interested in buying another one.

And thats a great Idea about the Batteries I will get atleast 2 more so I dont go dead when I want to vape.

When you say tanks, You just mean the glass tank itself or a whole new setup? Like I said Im new to this and dont want to buy junk just so I have to buy again and again. I still have yet to learn how to build these and how to take them apart and what to clean or not. Just been digging deep and reading what I can, and watching videos on each product to see what people like.

I know I will get a ton different answers, but knowing what each person likes and dislikes is a great place to start. Thanks again for the Replys.. Any recommendations will be looked at and studied before I make my purchase.

A tank as in a whole setup that you can screw one off from the Provari & put another one on, all ready to go... then switch back. You're going to want 2 or 3, especially at first when you're trying out new flavors & looking for what you like.

The Aero, meaning the Kangertech Aero that you listed.

2014517234399698.jpg

Those little guys screw into the bottom of it, you listed a pack of them as "cartos" (not actually cartos, though) Call them heads. A pack of heads is probably 5 of them, which will last you a while. You can rebuild them, but that's more advanced & you probably won't get into it for a while. They may be worth saving after you use them up if you want to save money down the road.

That Kangertech Aero is known as a clearo. You'll want 2 or 3 of those, complete. The Nautilus is another clearo that gets talked about a lot. The ProTank 2 is yet another one. You can buy replacement heads for each of them (not all are interchangeable), since the heads will go bad, but the rest of the clearo is just fine.

Ok now I am understanding what you mean. I will be buying another Tank setup most likely the Nautilis since that is what I hear most about.

Now do I need to rebuild these, or can one purchase a new head?? Like you know I dont know much about rebuilding these or anything just yet.
If there are tanks that I can just buy replacement parts then thats what I would prob get.

Also you say clearos and cartos.. Whats the difference there?? And what do you recommend then if you dont like clearos??

Does one have to buy new drip tips? Are there better drip tips than others?? Thanks again for the reply much appreciated and cant wait to vape

Not a problem at all. We were all in your shoes once & with the gigantic selection of gear out there, it can be intimidating to even know where to start looking.

You *can* rebuild the heads, but you don't have to. I think if you buy them in 5-packs they come out to be a buck or two each. Depending on the e-liquids that you vape (some will mess up the heads quicker than others) you could get anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months on a single head. Rebuilding them is much cheaper, but it's more of an advanced technique & I would suggest not even thinking about it for the time being. You have enough to worry about & to learn about, you can always tackle that challenge later on when you have other things mastered.

A carto is a different style of atomizer. They kind of look like a long cigarette .... made out of metal. You can vape off from a carto or put a carto in a tank (a cartotank, pretty clever, eh?). The carto in a tank is the same rough idea as the head in a clearo. It's just a different style of gear. Maybe you'll want to look into them a little down the road. I wouldn't worry about them right away. Get the basics down first, it won't take long.

I never got into clearos because I live in the mountains. I had one, but driving up & down in elevation constantly was messing with how it worked - I'm talking thousands of feet of elevation changes rather quickly. I used carto tanks for a long time, but now I just use RBA's. ReBuildable Atomizer. Those are more advanced & you have to learn to rebuild them. There's no replaceable heads or cartos like the other two. They offer a lot more customization since I can build it exactly how I want to. Those are definitely more advanced & not something to worry about when you're learning the ropes.

Drip tips are like putting rims on a car. You need them, but you can be pretty basic or you can be all sorts of flashy. There are literally thousands upon thousands of options out there for them. Some vape slightly different than others, but you could spend a fortune amassing a collection of them or you could stick with some cheapies that just do the job. It's up to you.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I dont think Im that ready to start rebuilding heads or tanks just yet. I am still learning to walk here hehehe. I will tho get into depth and learn how to do each and learn whats best.

So is a Carto Better than a clearo? Im still confused on the two. I guess I should start reading some more on each to see the differences.
Plus I want to be able to carry this setup with me at work or when I am fishing. That way I dont need to buy my ciggs anymore

Now how hard is it to clean these tanks, and drip tips and what not? Does one have to clean it after each fill?? Can u mix up the e juices when refilling the tanks?
or should one clean it spotless before putting in new juice?

Thanks a ton for taking the time out to explain this all to me. Just love using forums.

This is how cartos started. Cartridge + atomizer = Cartomizer. There's a little coil inside there & the rest is filled with wicking material. Then someone figured out if we punch some holes in the outside of it & put a reservoir around it, that wicking material will just keep sucking up the liquid out of the tank.

how_to_punch_a_hole_in_tank_cartomizer.jpg

The head of a clearo is the same idea, there's a little coil & some wick that sucks liquid out of the tank. Same idea, they each have their own quirks. It wouldn't be hard to find 10 people that say cartos are better than clearos. It'd be just as easy to find 10 people who say the opposite. It's all preference.

Before I forget, buy a lanyard for fishing. If it does take a drink, the Provari will survive, but take the battery out immediately & throw it away. Doesn't matter if it's a brand new battery or what. Throw it away. The Provari, you'll want to rinse out with clean water & let it dry 100% before using it again, but it will very likely survive the dunk. Keep it on a lanyard around your neck & you'll be pretty safe. These batteries do have the potential to be extremely dangerous.

Anyhow, I clean my tanks once a month or so... a lot of people don't even do that. A little Dawn & hot water works fine. 99% Isopropyl alcohol works well too. You might get a little flavor carry over or a strong flavored liquid might stick around in your tank for a while. Sometimes you might find 2 flavors that taste really good together. Sometimes it'll be so bad you'll just dump it & scrub the whole thing out. Just a part of the fun. If you use the same flavor in the same tank, most of them you can refill multiple times when it starts getting low. I have one flavor that needs a new wick every single tank. I have another one that gets refilled constantly until I clean the tank... it could probably go 2 months without messing with it, but I like clean tanks.

Glad I can help & good luck getting those cigarettes out of your life. The transition to vaping can be pretty tough for the first week or two. You're going to be messing with your new gear, some of it will give you a bit of trouble, all the while your body is going to be going through some major changes trying to adapt to not having all those nasty chemicals being pumped into it many times a day. Stick with it, be strong, you'll both get over the cigs & master your gear. Vape like a chimney if you have to. A lot of us did to get through the cravings.

Good to know thank you very very much. So appreciating you help me and walk me thru this. So I found some batteries off the bay for 13 bux shipped 2 batteries. I dont think thats a bad price. and they are the exact ones I believe they sell off that site. The guy Im getting the setup from is including a charger so Im guessing the batteries will work with it.

How long does a 10ml bottle of juice last? and How long does one tank or setup last before I have to change the wick or head or whatever hehehe.
Im pretty much will stick with one flavor for right now, until I get another tank or 2. I see these juices are cheap on certain sites and what not.

Do you have a recommmend brand or company or site you buy your juices from? How does one know or figure out if the juice is that good or that bad?

like i said thanks a ton man, much much apreciated.

I would strongly, strongly, strongly recommend against getting batteries on ebay. Don't mess around with batteries. Get them from RTD. I wouldn't use a battery from eBay if it was given to me for free. Even if it's the right brand, there's a very strong chance it's fake. If there's anywhere to not cheap out in vaping, it's with your batteries. Get 1 or 2 of these: AW IMR 18490 3.7v 1100mAh - RTD vapor

The i4 is a good charger. I use one myself. It'll charge a lot of different kinds of batteries, but that doesn't mean all of them are ok to put in your Provari, or even in any vaping device.

10mL will vary.. it's like asking how long a pack of smokes will last... to some people a few days to a week, for others, half a day at best. It all depends on you.

Personally I like NET's (naturally extracted tobacco flavors). Heather's Heavenly Vapes (HHV) does some great ones. Their non-tobaccos tend to be spot on as well. Dark Horse is one of my favorites & I don't think I would've quit without it. Legend is fantastic. I vape the Blueberry Muffin every single morning. Nice Pear & Crackberry are both delicious as well. Stay away from their coffees if you order from them. No bueno. Everybody's taste is different, so you may think those are all crap, you might love them. You'll be playing juice-hunter for a while looking for some ones that you really enjoy.

Try the new Aspire Nautilus Mini with the new BVC heads that come with it. It is for all practical purposes a carto tank. It's a vertical coil with no wick running through the coil, but like a cartomizer has wicking material wrapped around the outside of the coil. The result is better flavor than any other clearo to date IMO and really comes close to the flavor I get with RBAs. Everything else Oz has advised you on is spot on.
