I just bought a Igo-w and I'd like to know what gauge kenthal wire to get and what kind of coil to build for 1.5ohms.

I will be using organic cotton balls from riteaid.
I am 99% confident I can build a decent coil on the first try. I will be using my smoktech SID on this rda while I save up for a mechanical mod.

The SID does 3-5v & 3-15w.

If you want just 1.5 ohms Id go with 30awg to start. Try 6/7 wraps and see what you get,, adjust accordingly.

I'm not sure where your buddy is getting his info. Mine has been working fine with my Igo-L. I range from 1.5-2.2 ohm coils w/ cotton, pushing 7 to 12 watts without issue. The only limitation I can think of would be the amp-limit (can't remember what it is of hand)

If you're concerned about it, then for minimal the effort involved, go ahead and boil it. I don't, then again, i'm lazy with my drug-store cotton balls
.
HOWEVER!, If I were picking cotton off the plant, then yes I would boil to remove any possible pesticide residue.

OK guys, a buddy told me my Smok SID wont do much on a RDA. So I bought a Chi you clone (sorry but my $ pot for mods is low) hope I'm not frowned for buying a clone.
Do I have to boil organic cotton ?
Can I use straight cotton from a plant instead?

How will it not do much? at max power (6v), you are hitting the amp limit (of 4 amps) on a 1.5 ohm coil (im also not sure what the low end of ohms it can fire is. im thinking around 1.5 ohm) and at 24 watts.

If you are making coils and not using on a protected device, PLEASE get and use a multimeter to check the ohms before you even attach the coil.

yes, you could. i would still boil cotton straight from the plant to remove any bug parts that may be in it, and to remove any chemicals that may be on it.

With a 1.5 ohm coil, the SID maxes out at about 4.7 volts, regardless of where you set the voltage. That's just under its limit of 15 watts (14.73 watts), which really isn't too shabby on a good microcoil.
