They would have to be very tightly spaced for that many wraps and a 32g wire. I use a toothpick with my cotton thread already on it and either do a 4/4 or 4/5 and I'm using 30g kanthal, so the way I do it I could not get 1.5ohm with the setup above but I guess if you got your coils really tightly spaced it could be done.

I don't worry too much about spacing of coils and usually end up with something between 1.0-1.5 ohms or I start over:laugh:

Here's Rob's vid of him doing a re-build on the "reomizer":

Thanks,

Well, thanks to all that replied. For now, I am trying a 1.5 Smoketech atty and the flavor is better (could still use improvement though). I also pulled the trigger and ordered the reomizer ... Hope it comes soon :).

Is anyone aware of a video on the rebuild of this atty using silica wick? I will try to be winding a coil of about 1.5 ohms... Does 6 wraps of 32 kanthal sound about right?

Lots of variables at play here, but generally 6 wraps of 32g Kanthal will get you closer to 2Ω, possibly higher. If you're using 32g you're probably gonna be closer to a 3/4 wrap for 1.5Ω. It works, but I would suggest a thicker wire, 30g or even 28g if you want a LR coil. That way you will have more coil area for a given resistance. In my experience, more coil area equals more vapor and better flavor.

That said, a 1.5Ω coil from 32g Kanthal is still WAY better than any disposable atty I've tried.

I also like the "popping" sound I get with 30g or 28g kanthal. Of course; a few weeks ago I ended up with a .80ohm build and sometimes that "pop" would be hot juice burning my tongue!

I now test my RBAs with the thingamabob before I prime them like Rob does in the video.

I trust I can accomplish the same with my trusty multimeter? Can I test just across the coil or do I need to do it from the 510 connector?

I'm pretty sure your multimeter will work fine but all I've ever used is the one like Rob has in the video and my friend uses his Provari to check his so someone else should chime in on this one. I'm sure you can do it. I guess you would clip your "alligator" clips to the posts of the atty? Someone else will know...

I test my resistance after everything is installed. Sometimes at the connector end, but I hardly ever remove the RBA's from the Reos so I just poke the two leads of my meter onto the screw-heads in the pos/neg posts. No aligator clips needed, and the meter leads seat nicely into the screw heads. With the atty still on the mod its a nice stable platform to work from.

I do the same leave the atty on the mod cant be simpler
