Hallo,

I'm Maxime. 22 years old and coming from Belgium.
I'm already vaping for about 1 year and now i bought my first VW mod that can up to 100W.
It's the new Sigelei 100W Plus.
I'm now vaping with an Aerotank Mega and the 0.8 ohm coils from Kanger.
But when i tape ( at the minimum) at 10W it tastes burned after 2 takes.
Is there something that i'm doing wrong?

Greetings

Well, this sounds like a wicking issue with the tank. From what I understand, you can get a couple of good satisfying vapes before subsequent vapes taste burned?

Are you using a high Vg e-liquid? Vg is thicker in viscosity and is slower to wick. Also, I believe that tank uses silica wicks in the coils. You may need to do some primer puffs to encourage enough liquid to get to the coils. Just suck on the tank without power a couple of times.

Since you are new to high wattage vaping, it may take some time for you to adjust to the warmer vape. It may appear to be burnt initially.

Thanks for the quick reply.

On 10W i can vape about 5 seconds; after that i begins tasting burned.
It's a new coil and i'm now vaping Hawk Sauce from Mt Baker (50/50).

You mean if you take longer than a 5 second pull it tastes burnt? Because that's pretty normal with most Protanks/the Aerotank. The wicking just isn't sufficient to take a nice, deep lung rip.

You might want to turn the wattage down a little and see if that allows you to take longer pulls. Also, what setting is your airflow on? If you're taking deep lung pulls, you should be on the largest airflow size.

The minimum is 10w on my sigelei. I think i'm going to order a new tank. Which one do you prefer?
I was thinking about the Aspire Atlantis.

Sounds good.

Those aerotank coils are supposed to work 3.1 to 3.6 volts according to your link; they are not meant for high voltage vaping.

Thanks for the link Los Cuentos! I haven't seen the .8 anywhere else. Did they just come out with these or do my regular suppliers just not carry them?

They came out when they made the "Turbo Megatank" or whatever that abomination was called. With it, you could install 2x .8 heads to get a .4 ohm quad-coil Kanger mess. I've never used it, I just assumed it'd be a really weird vape.

I like my Subtank quite a bit.

But they are not good to sub ohm.. Just having a dilemma between the melo and atlantis

Consider the Subtank! I love it, personally. The ability to use the RBA section if you run out of coils or just want to save money/try your hand at building is a really nice feature, one that the Atlantis doesn't have.

I've also heard mixed reviews about the Melo, some people seem to love it, other people have troubles with it (leaking or weirdness with the heads -- which are apparently interchangeable with Atlantis heads?)

But are the normal cotton coils good from the Subtank?

What do you mean "normal" cotton? The only coils available really now are the OCC heads for the subtank. They work pretty damn good, I'm chuggin' on one now.

It's nice that they're cotton, because it's not some mystery filler material (fiberglass insulation or something potentially hazardous), but it also means if you burn one of the heads, you're kind of screwed. There's no getting that burnt cotton taste out of burnt cotton.

I love my Atlantis and get several weeks off a coil unlike my Subtank OCC coils. Also the Melo & Atlantis coils are interchangeable but I haven't tried the Melo yet.;)
