hello,
I just recently discovered e-cigs and they seem really great. I decided to order an e-cig for my mom, so she will stop smoking so much. I worry about her health constantly and I believe that this could help her.

anyways, to make a long story short, I purchased a 510 kit from kingpincigs. I put the battery onto the charger and the light went to green already. Do the batteries come pre-charged? and If not how they heck do I know when these batts are fully charged if the charger doesn't work properly? lol

also, are there any mods that you guys would recommend?

any help is greatly appreciated! :)

If the light is green, you're good to go. In my experience, the batteries arrive close to fully charged in most cases. I could talk all day about mods you should consider, but the one mod you absolutely have to do is a cart mod. The poly filler in your carts breaks down quickly. You need to change out this filler. I recommend the "pyramid teabag mod". However, some people prefer the blue foam mod, and there are others. Just search for cartridge mods.

alright, thank you for the advice. I just took the other battery and hooked it up to the charger. It appears to be flashing red and a hint of green. I assume that one is now charging. lol

also, I just did a little research on the lipton tea bag mesh material. It is called Polyethylene Terephthalate(PET). It's the same plastic most companies use to create soda bottles. After reading that I did a little more searching and found that pet has many scientific studies showing it has harmful side effects.

Keep It Organic » PET (polyethylene terephthalate)

I'm not really sure I would want my mom inhaling that. Is there any other alternatives?

thanks again fot all your help, kyfler. :)

Here's a little tip for you, and I only bring it up because it took me like two extra days to figure this out -- you have to screw the battery in to the wall charger that comes with the 510 kit. I thought you just had to stick it in there and it would stay, I couldn't figure out why it kept falling out!! Screw it in all the way, the light should be either red or green but I don't think I've ever seen it flash.

There is blue foam used for fish aquariums but not sure if it's any better than the tea bag. Just remember that you are not storing the juice in the cart for any length of time (hours and not months) and if you keep the cart from going dry by topping it off is should not melt. Not sure if the orginal polyfill that comes in the cart would be any safer then the tea bag or blue foam under going the same test studies.

Considering what they add to regular cigs it is still safer IMHO.

I found this quote on a gardening website:

The translucent Pyramid tea bag is made of PET, the same food grade material clear water and juice bottles are made of. As with any plastic, it would not be considered biodegradable. PET is completely safe and is 100% recyclable within the plastics waste stream. Hope this information is helpful. Kind regards,Your friends at Lipton

I always use the ones that feel like fabric (almost silk like)
