New to the Forum - Have Reo Mod Questions..

So I'm new to vaping, new to the scene. Did a bunch of research and decided to opt for a Reo Grand as my first PV. Don't regret the decision at all, but I have a few questions after having just received it.

1. How tight do you tighten the atomizers? Can you tighten them too much and break them? Or do they need to be snug?

2. Since the mod is mechanical can you actually short it with an over-volted battery? I read this somewhere on these boards and wasn't sure if it meant the mod would actually be dead after a short or what the hell that meant.


Appreciate any advice. This community is pretty bad ....

You should only tighten the atty, or carto, on ANY PV, until it makes contact. Never, ever screw it in hard.

I'm electrically challenged so I don't know the answer to question #2.

So it should only be screwed in, tight enough so there's no wiggle left...hence solid contact. Aye?

Yep, it has something to do with pushing the battery too far in and making for multiple problems. I don't know whether this would apply to Reos, but it's good advice to always follow anyway.

I actually found a video in the Reo section I should have seen earlier...he mentions in the first tutorial how to tighten it in...

Yes, they are. I've never had a lick of a problem with either of them. I use both of them every day in addition to the Provari, just different flavors.

1. Tighten the atomizer until it's a little snug. If you do it too tight, it can cause the mod to short and collapse the spring. It can also break the atomizer at the base where the threading is at.

2. Yes, it can be shorted out just like an electrical mod with a board. It will cause the spring to collapse and weaken. The spring collapsing is the mods way of disconnecting the power supply (battery)...and in another sense, protects the user.

What happens if the mod shorts out? Gotta send it back to Reo for repairs?
