Hello all,

First time posting in the forums. The main reason I joined the forum was because since I've had my e-cig's I've found a lot of information here.

However, I did want to ask a question, but I'm not sure where to post it. I have a Modern Vapor sidesho e-cig, and I've been having some problems with it. It seems as though my atty is never really functioning properly. Every time I switch to a new cartridge, I add the proper amount of E-juice, and I put a few drops on the atty itself. When I first start smoking it, it's great! but shortly afterwards I start getting a burnt taste from it. I open up the cartridge and look at the filler, and it's still almost full of juice! It seems as though the only E-juice I'm actually getting is straight from the atomizer. As soon as that juice is gone the taste gets bad. Any help here?

Thanks!!!

Whoaa!!! Hot chicks vaping in low key stills with animated vapor! This is awesome!

Welcome to the forum, blondie! I'm sorry I can't help you, but maybe someone here can. I gave up on the atomizer-cartridge setup in about 15 seconds, and in general is considered outdated and too much hassle. Back when this was the thing, people were modding their carts - using teabags and stuff. Now I'd just say use something else, but of course on that site I can't easily find what threading your battery is :( Maybe if someone knows, or you can get the vendor to tell you, you could try compatible cartomizers (much easier to use, and a more reliable vape).

Good luck!

Hi and welcome to ECF. When using an atty/cartridge setup the little cottony stuff in the cartridge gets packed down after a few uses and it doesn't make contact with the bridge in your atomizer. You can fluff it up a couple of times with a pin or other sharp object and it'll work again for a while. Eventually you'll have to replace it though. These days most people either go to cartomizers, tanks, or direct dripping because those little cartridges are kind of a pain to keep working properly.

There are all kinds of tweaks to prevent that problem with carts. It was the plague of vaping for a long time.
The one that worked best for me was to remove the foam filler in the cart and cut it in half, so it leaves an empty space in the cart. Don't worry, juice won't leak out. If you still have the problem, cut it by another 1/3. I had carts where all I had was a 1/8" thick piece of foam and a reservoir of loose juice. But my juice was fairly thick.

I'm not familiar with your exact cartridge, but if it's jus a simple mouthpiece filled with a plug of foam, you can do what I outlined. There's no need for all that foam. Just a small piece down near the atty will be sufficient and allow the juice to wick into the atty much better.

You can also replace the foam with a small plug of poly-fill like they sell to stuff animals. A bag of it costs about $3 and will last about 1000 years.

Best to just nix the whole atty cartridge scheme altogether and use cartos. But as long as you have attys and don't want to drip, the best thing is to increase the juice flow in the way I described.

And yes, fluff up the fill a little so that it's at least flush witht he lip of the cartridge, maybe even protruding just slightly. Don't worry, as long as it's wet it won't burn or melt.

I do believe I will try your suggestion. I'll let you know if it works out. I recently purchased some of the thicker foam, so putting in more juice/less foam should work out. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll repost soon with any updates.

The Pyramid Tea Bag mod was the one that worked best for most people. Just do a search on You Tube and you should be able to find it. It worked, it was easy, and it was cheap.

Just tried the tea bag mod, and holy cow it seems to work really well! It definitely makes vaping a lot easier, and it's nice to not worry about the foam and cart filler. I also tried the other trick mentioned, and cut a lot of the foam out of the cart. It did indeed make it easier to vape and keep the liquid wicking down to the atty, but I think the tea bag mod might work just a little bit better. Thank you all so much for your suggestions and the warm welcomes!

Hi Blondie, How about just removing the poly-fill from your cartridge, put 3 drops of juice on your atomizer and vape!

My problem with removing the polyfill entirely means that there won't be much juice. I can go through the juice pretty fast haha. After trying these tips out for a few days, it seems that having next to nothing for polyfill, mixed with a drop or two of water is the trick that is working best for me.
