Hi,
Most of the clips on Utube show how to fill a cart or cartomiser or even cartridge but they don't show the other end of the device.
Unscrew the cart from the battery and hold it (the cart) at arms length at eye level. If you can see the thread then it is a male thread and the battery has a female thread.
I am not trying to be rude or crude but the male fits inside the female.

I've just tried googling Socialites e-cig's & can only come up with a disposable of that name sold in the USA. Where did you buy it from?

Also how long are you trying to make the cartomisers last for? Some of the ciggie lookalikes make very false about how many cigarettes a prefilled cartomiser is the equivalent to. In reality, they are only equivalent to 10 real cigarettes. However, you should be able to refill them with e-liquid.

Hi,
Tell your friend to be very careful. I got burned by a similar offer. Before I knew what was happening they took £75 from my credit card and I am still fighting to get it back.
Back to your cold turkey, I am 9 weeks in vaping so can remember what it was like when I started.
I bought a disposable from Tesco and waited until I got home before using it because it looked huge compared to my rollys and I thought I would look stupid with that drainpipe in my mouth. I was a 40 a day smoker and that evening I only smoked 5 cigs and run the disposable dry. The following morning I was back in town buying a mini kit. 1 battery, 2 cartomisers, usb charger and a cheapo case. I also bought 5 king size menthol carts. By the time I got home and charged the battery I had already smoked more than 20 firesticks but that evening I again used the ecig with an occasional smoker. 5 again.
The following day I was all set and alternating between the two I only smoked 5 real cigs.
By 8pm on the fifth day I lit my 2nd cig of the day and half way through it I thought "why bother". That was my last cigarette.
Nine weeks, four days, 1 hour 57 minutes and counting.
Don't try and make the switch in one. If you feel like a ciggie have one. Next time pick up the ecig and have a few drags. Make it easy on yourself. The day will come when you prefer the ecig.

Hi chrissy.

Its a Socialites e-cig and the strength is 24mg cartomizers.

Does that help or do u need more info?

If you are using the "socialites" e cig I can find by googling in the UK, you are in trouble.

I bought some similar e cigs, and they can't even put a dent in any withdrawal cravings.

Why? because they hardly produce any vapour and what there is is never going to replace the nicotine levels you're probably used to.

I was refilling carts on a cheap mini e cig using liquid I'd purchased from a proper online store. After 2 weeks, I'd only managed to use about 1-2ml of liquid. I'm sure someone on here can "do the maths" but essentially, I had almost given up smoking and replaced my nicotine level with, well....almost nothing to be honest.

I found (bought) a "proper" mini e cig & killed off the cravings within 2 days of trying. Trouble is, vaping on it often, I was changing the batteries up to 3 times a day and refilling the carts 4 or 5 times a day with a drop or three, as that's all I could get in.

Today, I started using a completely new set up with HUGE batteries and carts that hold 5x as much liquid. To be honest, the new ones are WAY too strong for me (using the 18 and 24 mg liquids) as there is SO much vapour. I'm going down to 12mg or less ASAP.

I know where you are Jacqui. Get your kit right, and you'll have no trouble. Ask away....

If it's any help, I've used 4 different systems since I started vaping 20 months ago, and I've still saved money compared to tobacco cigs.
Each time I kept the older one as a spare, but I've never needed them.

Yes. I've used 3 in just 4 months. Basically, the cheap ones are very little help.

These are 24mg lol

Yes....and if it's doing the job, you should stick with it.

24mg on proper e-cig mini's is my ideal. 24mg on my first kit (basic ones from a supermarket chain) wouldn't do it for me.

I'm new to this, but it seems that the type of e-cig a person uses then affects the strength of the liquid or carts. Bigger and better kit produces more vapour and increases the nicotine dose (as you get more liquid steamed up for the puff...)

24mg on a powerful e-cig is A LOT of nicotine....too much for me. I can puff/vape my first ones all day and still get cravings. Just 5 goes on my new ones and I can't even pick it up for at least an hour......

I didnt get mine from a supermarket, lol. However lm open to hearing what brand/make is best.

I didn't mean it like that, honestly.

I was using supposedly "the best e-cig in Britain" and for me, it just was going nowhere. The whole experience was pathetic.....

I can't advise you on what to do, if you are doing OK, then don't worry, be happy. :)

I am interested to know more though, just to help out anyone looking to get into it.

Djsvapour,

could you please let me know what you are using as I am very interested.

I'm using two "kits" a.t.m. both have 2 batteries so I can avoid charging issues.

One kit is a simple "mini" e-cig, for which I have carts only, which get filled with various flavours.

Excel - Starter Kit - PCC kits by JAC Vapour Ltd

The other is a RIVA kit from VapeEscape, sometimes carts, sometimes the clearomiser.

Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

I started on E-lites, widely available but hopeless to keep me off the analogues.

- - - -

To cut a long story short, I can easily commit to 100% vaping with the minis, but I have to charge often and fill often.
The big RIVA 1100mah personal vaping device is a very efficient system, t.b.h. I have to be careful not to use it too often, so much so, I'm already planning on dropping down to 12mg liquid.

The way I have experienced things is that I have consistently smoked 12-18mg nicotine (in a day) in my real smokes (20 years), so unless I can replace that with a similar amount through vaping, I'm never going to stop.

It's working, but the big battery e-cigs aren't exactly discrete......

Thank you! So you use the mini to go out and about and the Riva at home?

I am interested in the Riva, I live abroad and have no idea about what I need. Could you tell me if I buy the Riva what I will need to use it and is there other parts that will need replacing etc so I can plan ahead and buy in advance as with living in Turkey it's complicated.

At last I feel as though I am getting somewhere, thanks again :)
