Hello everyone
I'm a few weeks old vape with istick 30w. I want to post in other forums but it's not letting me. I guess I should start here first.
I would like to upgrade to rda from nautilus mini already and would like suggestions I have the mutation x v3 in mind but want to see what you all think

The mutation is a nice RDA,but my opinion(everyone has one)is that the legion is a nice first RDA.Just think its very friendly with nice big post and good airflow.

I get (well, for me) clouds with my copper Mutation X on my rDNA 40. You will need to know what the lowest ohm rating the iStick can fire at.

Yeah, 30 watts will give you plenty of cloudage. Don't start with the really high-powered mods.

If you want to save money, in the long run, I would get a higher wattage Mod. You DON'T have to use all the available Power at first, but when you advance along, you'll likely be happier that you did. Plus, buying the smaller wattage mods first, almost guarantee's your going to have find a box or drawer to store them in! Cause once I went to a high wattage Mod, I don't ever really pull out my lower wattage mods anymore. So, In the long run, i think you might be better off with a higher wattage mod, especially if your thinking you want to be a "cloud chasing" "sub-ohm" vaping kinda guy!!

BUT, this is just my $0.03!!

Also, the Mutation X V3 is a great RDA, you will enjoy it! There are lots out there to choose from, but if that is one your looking at now, you will be happy with the purchase.
And my advise above is solely in regards to saving money, by NOT having to Upgrade and Upgrade and Upgrade over and over again to higher and higher wattage mods as your experience develops. Now, not everyone has the same experience and there are LOTS of people who will tell you that they vape at 8 or 11 or 19 watts ALL DAY long and blow great clouds etc. etc.. I was just giving my thoughts and my experience!

OP, try a build somewhere around 1.0 ohms. When you're more comfortable with your rda you'll be able to experiment with different resistances. My advice, don't build down to .4 ohms just yet. At 30 watts its a pretty weak vape. Make due with what you have until you know what you want/need.

I'll take your word and try it at 1.0 ohm and go down until 0.6 when I'm more comfortable

Another option would be to look at the Kanger Subtank Plus. It includes an OCC coil that has .5 ohms at 15-30 watts and 1.2 ohms that fires at 12-25 watts. This would work with your setup. The BEST part is that it also includes a mini RBA coil that can be rebuilt. This gives you the best of both worlds in one cost. Just a thought

I know it has many features but I want to get rda manly for dropping and trying different e juices. And getting a lot of clouds

Welcome to ECF. Take your time as you dabble in rda. Getting the best of the best isn't always a good idea. Find a cheap rda try it out for a few weeks if you like it but the the best. I'd rather be out 10-15 than out $60 because I didn't like it or couldn't figure it out.

I just pulled the trigger on mutation x v3 for $20 from ebay.
One thing I don't understand, so if I build around 1.0-0.8 ohms will I be able to fire it on 25-30 watts? Will it be too hot?
