New to the forums and E-cigs in general

Hey everyone. I'm glad that I found this forum. It seems very helpful/friendly unlike the other one that I signed up for yesterday. Basically I smoked a pack a day for the past 10 years and decided that I needed to stop for myself and my family. I started with the njoys that are sold in stores around here but they didnt last long and got to be more expensive than regular cigarettes so I bought a starter kit from e-cig(I'm hoping that its a reputable place) that has 2 1300mah batteries and the ce5 atomizers. So far, I love it and the 1300 battery seems to last an extremely long time. My questions are: How often does the atomizer need cleaned and when does the head/wicks need replaced? I see other atomizers that come with different ohm heads and I have no clue what that is for. What are the different ohms used for. As far as voltage, I have no idea what my batteries are in regards to that. I am really confused with all of the different batteries, atomizers, cartomizers, ohms and stuff like that because there are so many. I want to make sure that I'm not going to ruin the ones that I have and also want to make sure that I dont order wrong parts.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum! I am new as well. Glad you found a setup you like. Although I am no expert by any means, I may be able to help with a few things.. I used the Cisco spec aero bridge less atomizers. Not that that matters, cleaning is pretty universal. I try to clean them once a week, and no less than once every two weeks. I have never dealt with a rebuildable, so i have no experience with that kind of stuff. People use vv (variable voltage) devices so they can use a higher ohm atty or carto without sacrificing vapor/throat hit/flavor etc. If your pv isn't vv then you are probably vaping at 3.7 volts. You're not going to ruin your atty at 3.7. Burning happens when people use a low resistance atty/carto and try to cape it at crazy volts. With your setup I would recommend a low resistance atty. that will get you the best performance from 3.7 volts. And don't worry about about burning it up. If that does happen, there is something very wrong.. Hope I was able to help at least a little bit. Good luck!

I just gave this same explanation to someone else, so hopefully this will be easy. You need to understand some very basic electronics. Higher voltage and lower resistance equal more heat at the element. now, you can vary both of these things by using a variable voltage battery and different resistance (ohm) atomizers. Keep in mind that the higher the heat is and the quicker it is heated will affect the flavor and vapor.
This is just like cooking. If you put something in a pan and heat it quickly, at a high temperature, it will taste and feel very different than if you cooked it low and slow. It is all about your personal taste. When I make ribs I cook them low and slow. When I sear a roast I cook it hot and fast.
Try some different voltages and resistances and see what you like. I would start out with a 2.4 ohm atomizer at about 3.5 volts and go from there.

You have, what we all nutshell as, an EGO e-cig, I think? this is the kit you ordered, http://www............/shopping/products/64-E-Cigarette-CE4/ correct?
If so, any 510 threaded device, or 510 EGO threaded device will work on it. Don't worry too much about this, you will see as you look around what's 510 and what's not.
What you are seeing with the different heads are choices to make what you have work best for you. With the batteries you have try to stay from 1.7 ohm to 2.5 ohms, DO NOT use anything less than 1.7 ohms, this will kill your battery quick like!
Sorry, I'm not much help on the care and feeding of the clearomizers, I'm not a fan of them, so I've no idea!

Hi jaysix and welcome to ECF, Congrats.

has 2 1300mah batteries and the ce5 atomizers.

100 mah= 1 hour normal vaping before needing recharge.

How often does the atomizer need cleaned and when does the head/wicks need replaced?

I no longer use the Ce5 as I've switched to the Vision Viv Nova. Generally depending on the darkness of the juice you could wash it out once every 5? days. Sometimes a dry burn is needed to clean the coils. If cared for properly they will last for weeks if not months. When the taste is "burned" time to clean.

I see other atomizers that come with different ohm heads and I have no clue what that is for. What are the different ohms used for.

ECF has blocked the vendor's site so just guessing that you have a 3.4- 3.7 volt PV.
1.8 ohms- good from 3.3- 4.0 volts= warm vape
2.4 ohms- good for 4- 4.5 volts= cool vape
