New to the forums but a month into vaping...

Well where do I start off ? first I was smoking for about 20 years or so I have tried to quit numerous times through prescriptions cold turkey but nothing seemed to work. The past year I switched to rolling my own had the big machine that you crank to load your tubes and all of that due to the rising prices of cigarettes here in Maryland. I thought that my high stress job and the stress from raising my Autistic daughter me quitting smoking anytime soon was a pipe dream and the last thing in my mind.

About a month ago I ran into a co worker that transeferd to another location. Asking him to join me outside for a smoke is where it all began. That is when he told me that he quit using an e cig and I laughted my .... off at that silly contraption and to hear he was smoking cake batter juice. After him talking with me about his success I decided on my way home that I would swing by the vape shop he picked his ego twist at and check it out.

I went in and I thought it was a decent deal a ego-t battery and the charger with a clearomizer for around 31 bucks with some juice. I went home putting my smokes in the door of my truck and told myself I would give myself a day with the e cig. This was on a friday around 11:30am By Monday morning I had not touched a cigarette from my case or the ones I rolled in my freezer. Needless to say I gave just about a full carton of smokes with my hard cases to my friend and gave him the cig machine.

I was content with my E-go T until I started watching videos on youtube I was curious about Variable Voltage but was not sure about pulling the trigger on a upgrade. That changed when a co worker of mine went down to the other shop in my area and picked up an e go twist. So ever curious I asked him if I could try his battery with my clearomizer. I knew at that moment my e-go t would fall to a back up or my stealth unit. A few days later I picked up a Vamo and a few Smok tech vivi nova's.

I have enjoyed this past month analog free and hooked on vaping. In this past few weeks I have gotten three co workers to make the switch with great success in there own right and a family member. Right now I am hooked on a few flavors from one of my local shops Madd Monsoon from MaddCatt Vapors. The only thing that I am curious about now is the different delivery systems. The only thing I have used thus far is a Clearomizer. I have been thinking about a cardo tank but still very unsure about it and wondering if I would have leaking issues and such.

Happy to be one of the newest members of the vaping comminity

Welcome Nightfreak, and congratulations! Good job on getting others to switch.
I hear good things about carto tanks, but have never used one. I don't think it's the thing for me, but of course, things are different for everyone. I really like the Kanger T3s, so my next step will probably be the Kanger Pro tank to replace my Vivi Nova. Regardless of what you try out, good luck!

Congrats! What clear do you have? I have a cargo tank, the dct with smoktech 1.5ohm dual coils to be exact, and its nice, holds about 6ml of juice, so no topping off throughout the day. Other than that, I can't say its any better than any of my clearo's. The flavor is a bit muted, and vapor production is sub-par. No leaks or anything like that tho. A lot of people swear by them tho, so might be worth the try.
Personally, I prefer my vision vivi nova mini. It only holds 2ml of juice, but vapor production is great, plenty of throat hit, and flavor is unsurpassed IMHO. With the twist, I would suggest 2.4ohm heads.

Well right now I have a 2.0 ml vivi nova running a coil about 2 ohms and the bigger vivi nova running at 3 ohms both smoke tech versions. ( Was suppose to be the same but the wife passed the store and got my replacement coils...so I used them anyway.) I also have a bottom coil clearomizer that has been really solid.. I like the bottom coil a lot but like the warmer vape from the vivi nova. They all work great on my vamo running it around 4.0-4.8 volts I just last night was wondering about cranking it up a bit more. I did find out some juices are better at a lower lower voltage.

I love the fact I can vape in my house and not worry about my little girl and the second hand smoke....She does enjoy the second hand vape from the madd monsoon I have been enjoying though.

I have a vision spinner right now with a caro tank from ibtanked. The tank is flawless, however i think the cartos lack strength and smooth vapor, i seem to have to take huge hits to get what i want, will try another flavor or two and a different resisitance next time, then go for a different carto as I have read some are better than others in a carto tank

Welcome Nightfreak! Nice to meet you! Always good to see new vapers joining the ranks.

Your juice question: VG is very very thick. It can be hard to wick. It also imparts some sweetness to your vape. If you increase your VG content you will likely get more clouds of vapor at the price of losing some throat hit and flavor. Plus you will be limiting yourself a bit what juice delivery systems will work well with it. PG produces plenty of vapor and has the best "TH" and flavor delivery, plus it's thinner. The most favored mix of the two types is about 70PG/30VG on average. Personally...I dislike the flavor VG imparts and only use about 15% in my DIY juice. Just to ramp up the vapor a bit, but not interfere with the flavor.

As for carto tanks...I really like them. I would advise against "dual coil" cartomizers however. I far and away prefer single coil and get better carto life and battery life with them. Depending on your juice..you can use most any tank, really. Plastic or glass. If you like the vape things with citrus, cola or other acidic flavors, avoid polycarbonate (clear) tanks, but the polypropylene (frosted looking) plastic tanks should be okay. If you vape a wide range of flavors and don't want to have to worry...get pyrex/glass tanks like from Phiniac or IBTanked or Valley View Vapes.

I think the best cartomizers for carto tanks are Boge or Ikenvape Platinum. I mostly use Boge because Ikenvapes can be hard to get due to constantly selling out and being available from only one vendor. Almost ALL vendors carry Boge. For variable voltage devices, get 3ohm so you can utilize a full range of your voltage choices.
