New to the Neighborhood

Hey All,

I'm new to the neighborhood, and thought I would drop a line. I started with e-cigs a few years ago, the first one I tried being a Blu, I didn't like them at all. After that I went back to cigarettes for a while. About 2 years ago, on recommendation from my step dad I tried a set up from Vapers Corner, it was called the VCT tank (I only found out a week ago that It was just an e-go battery with a c1 type A atomizer from joyetech with Vapers Corner labeling). I used this for about a month, almost stopping cigarettes completely, but eventually I couldn't take the side effects. I believe it was from the 100%pg ejuice the company sold, so back to cigarettes. A couple week ago I decided to give it another go. I did research, read, and watched many reviews for a couple days. I ended up ordering a MVP 2, a Nautilus Aspire mini tank, and some 50/50 e juice. So far I am 4 days in with none of the old side effects, and just absolutely loving the vape im getting off this set up. I didnt smoke a cigarette at all yesterday and haven't felt the need to smoke one today. I feel like I have the tools and the knowledge to make the vape stick this time.

I guess that was a lot more than a line, but whatever. thats my story and im sticking to it. lol

Welcome to ECF! So glad you kept trying. The MVP2 is an awesome device and you will be good to go with it for most of the toppers you decide to use. If you decide to get into rba (rebuildable atomizers) down the road you may have to get a different device depending on how you build the coil. But for now you are golden.

Make sure you pick up one or two backup batteries and a couple more toppers so you have something to vape while your main device is charging. It is also good to have several toppers so you can keep them loaded up with different juices. It makes it a lot quicker and easier to switch flavors.

Here is a thread that has lots of links to great info to up your learning curve.

Vaping can easily become a hobby. How expensive it is and how involved you get with it is up to you. Have fun.

Welcome to ECF! Glad you decided to give it another go. The side effects you experienced were most likely from quitting smoking, not from vaping. There is a list on here of the side effects. Hopefully someone will post a link. Great choice on the MVP! I hear them Mini Nautilus' are pretty good too.

Hi there. I'm a new member myself. I'm really curious. What kind of side effects were you having?

My throat would just get irritated every time I would take a vape on it. It would feel like my throat was swelling (it sounds a lot worse than it was, it felt like minor inflammation). The weirdest one was every puff I would take the back side of my bottom front teeth would hurt like I put something really cold on them. This was just my experience vaping 100% PG fruit punch flavor. Going to 50/50 PG/VG has taken all of those symptoms away, Fruit and fruit punch vapes are still my favorite.

alot of people have issues with pg there is actually traces of alcohol in pg its how they make it and the alcohol affects some people by attacking the saliva on the back of the throat to absorb the liquid to become a liquid form again. if it does bother you again try going to a higher vg dont give up though man i been there i have a low tolerance to pg so i smoke anywhere from 100% vg to 80/20
