New to the Vaping World!

Hello, I am new to vaping. I've been vaping for just about 2 months. I am, however, finding this much more expensive than smoking "analog" cigarettes. There are just so many mods, tanks, and flavors to try. I am finding myself moving up very quickly and show the early signs of being a mod addict.

I started with the Halo G6 e-cigs which served their purpose to ween this 20 year, pack-a-day smoker completely off of regular cigarettes. I then quickly wanted a better more satisfying vape. I settled on an E-Fire V.V. with a copper colored hypertank and a protank 3 mini from my local vape shop. This was and still is great, but I still craved more. So I go back to the local vape shop and come home with a Hammer clone mod and Aerotank Mega. This is a great combination with warm vape and good hits once I fixed the center pin issue on the top cap. Now I am looking into RBA's.

I am an electronics tech by trade so all the possibilities and combinations are over-whelming and exciting at the same time. I am hoping this fever wears off before I go broke, lol.

You have G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome)

Actually, once you find something which really works well for you, you don't actually "need" to purchase additional gear. Once I found my ideal setups, I only needed to purchase inexpensive maintanance supplies and juice.

Clearo replacement heads ($3 every 10 - 20 days), cartomizers ($2 - $3 every 10 - 20 days), Kanthal wire ($8 for about a years supply), and organic cotton ($3 for about a years supply) are cheap compared to $6 or more for cigarettes on a daily basis.

You can save money big time if you learn to do DIY juices.

I use a Provari and Silver Bullet mechanical mod. I use a Kayfun Lite+ RTA, a Patriot RDA, and cartotanks

Lies!!! Once you find the gear that works for you, you need one in every color and color matched. And then backups for those devices. Oh and god forbid somebody shows you something and says it's great, now you will feel the need to have one just to try it out for yourself.

But actually once you find what you like it will become "controllable" as to what you buy. My authentics stay at home and I use when I am relaxing. My clones are my go away or work devices. I only have two drippers, everything else is some version of a Kayfun.

If your looking to spend less but good quality, I would recommend the Ehpro Kayfun Lite Plus. If you look around there is a v1 and v2. I recommend the on with the straight (not curved) engraving on the bottom. That is the version that has a deeper top cap and can accept any nano kit if you ever feel the need.

Thank you all. GAS!?! It is nice to know there is a name for it. I did finally settle on a couple of e-juices I really like, Black N Wyld from my local B&M, and Black Clove from Mt. Baker Vapor.

I always find myself on these forums when googling for answers or reviews of products. I thought it was about time to sign up and maybe be able to contribute something back.

Despraci - Thanks. I was looking at the Kayfun clones on FastTech and saw a lot were hit and miss on quality. I will look into the EHPro version.

Thank you VZToronto. It was easier than I thought once the regular cigarettes tasted nasty to me. Once I got that nasty taste from my faithful Marlboro, I was done with them.

Cool-breeze - I figured that will come to me as well once I find the right setup for me. I still carry my Halo G6 with me everywhere as my comfort blanket and backup.

to ecf 007shark. So glad you are here. There are so many things out there to choose from and you will learn of so many things on ecf. At first it does seem like there is an investment period you go through where everything is justified but it does slow down at some point. Not because you run out of money but because you find what makes you happy. All the stuff I have bought for the last year are wonderful backups because I found everthing I was looking for in the reo grand. Good luck to you and I look forward to reading about your adventure. Happy vaping. :)
