 I am thinking about getting a Regular 510 kit.... I have seen a couple things that suggest that with the basic 510 you are able to do more with and convert it to try other methods and was curious on if what I have seen is true or not....if I wanted to be able to make it a ego would all I need to do is get the ego battery, charging system, and cone? That way when needed I could have longer battery life. Second, I wanted to know if I got the threaded adapter that I could also be able to use it as a cartomizer when wanted? It woud seem to be like having all the different ways of trying, and enjoying vaping without buying a bunch of complete seperate units, and that would be great for me to be able to get a feel for what I like best....with me being new and not knowing yet..I figured it would be more cost efficient for me since I can't make up my mind on just one kind...any advice on all this or anything I may need to know... just learning all this... would be great...thanks for any help:blink:

Yes

No adapter required, there are cartomizers made for the 510. You can find them at many vendors, but I get mine from litecigusa.net. But YES, you can get an adapter and use other cartomizers like the 901.

All in all, the 510 is a good bet. The Ego is even better. If you're worried about the size, it's not that much bigger. It's like small cigar, short and fat. Most people here that started vaping and wanted a PV that was small and short to look like a regular cigarette, soon realized that it doesn't matter what your PV looks like, as long as it works well.

Welcome to ECF, you'll find lots of answers here.

the short answer is yes
...you can get 510 cartomizers, or an adapter that woujld let you use KR808 cartomizers or 901 atties...
the eGo uses a 510 atty so you'd only need the battery, cone, and fast charger to upgrade that way...
the only real difference is that the 510 (and eGo) battery are actually 3.2V not a true 3.7V....so the experience of using a KR808 cartomizer wouldnt really be the same as on it's native 3.7V battery....and a 510 atty on a KR808 battery performs differently too

i went ahead and bought the Joye eGo kit from Nicotine Nirvana...couldn't pass the sale price up...I also got two 30 ml of juice in flavors I think I would like...the 5 carts with kit are reg 18mg...not sure how well I would like them since I like menthol ciggs...Now I just need to find a good priced supplier for replacement accessories and e-fluid.

I tried the 510 and 901 atty on a KR808 battery. What is the performance difference as opposed to using those atties on their native battery?

About a half a volt, which translates into a substantial drop in power(V*V/R)

Hmmm, good point. I was thinking about pulling the trigger on that same eGo kit and was looking thru all the post's I could find. So I guess the only real advantage (going with the eGo vs. the 510) would be the 650mah batterys ?
It looks like a great "starter" kit. :2c:

PS. Not knocking the eGo..ANYTHINGS BETTER THAN ANALOGS !

I went for that kit from Nirvana, i just couldnt pass it up guys. I dont promote anybody, but i do give my experiance.

When i do get the kit i will let you all know how it turns out!!

I started with a Joye510 kit, and basically just wanted to try somthing a little beefier.

Believe me i dont "need" somthing bigger and better just wanted to see what it was all about and use it as a treat.

Ive got a funny feelin once i use it it will become more then a treat =) ~Capn~

alnjessie Good luck to you, and you got a kit that will do the trick! Now I was never a menthol smoker, but had a friend that was, and used to like to bum one from him occasionally because I liked them, but full time menthol wasn`t for me. I have found the menthol ecig juice nothing like the menthol real cigs. It`s awful to me. Hopefully someone who was a menthol smoker has found a good liquid and can help you, because not being a menthol smoker I didn`t try many, and there may in fact be good ones.

Ease into this thing if you have to. You may continue to smoke for a while, some people do. Just don`t get frustrated by the "learning curve", you`ll niche if you keep trying!

yeah the kit I got from Nicotine Nirvana, comes with two eGo's, two 2 hole atomizers, two eGo 650mah manual white LED batteries, two charges-one usb wall, and one AC to usb adapter, five Med 18mg carts, two atomizer covers, and one carrying pouch, n the manual...all sent in the case...plus free 10ml of e-fluid for solving the riddle they posted on ECF...the adapters about two bucks n t drips about a buck fifty are pretty cheap...and now there are 510 carto's so I would not have to get an adapter unless I wanted to see how the 808 performs later. I at first was going to get just a reg 510...but after some studying n talking to others...they say all the eGo is is a 510 on steroids...longer battery life by far n still able to change it up some to try new things...I got it all for $57.23..and they e-mailed me and gave me a couple extra empty carts n let me know they already shipped it n gave me the link to my tracking number..the kit you got isn't bad either...I looked at it too and was about to get it, once I broke down the prices to individually buy the stuff I figured to just get the 57.23 kit instead n buy the little stuff later...now I'm checking all the different e-liquid and replacement stuff suppliers out to see who has the best prices, service, shipping, and variety of stuff etc. Can't wait till it comes...like a kid at christmas LOL...I'll let everyone know how it is when I try it out...I love this site ...you guys have been so helpful in my learning process
