Thanks for the tag @Topwater Elvis!
Yeah, I was offline and getting some much needed sleep... I was up for somewhere around the 48 hour mark and finally just had to go home and crash!
Yes, I have a Target VTC, I received it on Monday and have been vaping it non-stop ever since. I don't know about yours, Lindsay, but mine came with a plastic drip-tip. I've been vaping mine (with the same coil you are using) at around 40W with no problems. The tip will sometimes become moderately warm, but I've not gotten it hot yet. Once the coil is well saturated, chain vaping shouldn't be too much of a problem either. My first suggestion would have been airflow, but you say that yours is already wide open. Hmmmm... time to put on my thinking cap...
Well, for starters, the temp setting is completely irrelevant at this point. It plays no bearing on vaping in power mode... in fact, if you put it in temp mode and try to vape with the Kanthal coil it will display "Not Ni200" and will automatically switch back to power mode if you try to fire again. (Note that it will not do this the other way around with a Nickel coil... it WILL fire a nickel coil in power mode, and this is not a good thing to do!)
Do you have a spare Kanthal coil? I've looked for new ones to order, but they are all out of stock everywhere I've checked so far. If you do have a spare, I would suggest taking out the old one (and putting it in a small jar of Everclear or similar PGA to let it soak and clean for a few days), and installing a new coil. If you do not have a spare Kanthal coil, I can walk you through the process of setting up the Nickel coil. Temp control isn't really all that difficult. You install the Nickel coil, switch the mod to temp control mode, set the temp to around 350°F and vape... you can bump the temp up or down until it feels/tastes the way you like it.
The way you are drawing when you take a pull sounds fine. Not too hard, not too light... and keep it steady. That's about all I can come up with for now (and most of it has already been stated here. Thanks guys!) But, what I can do is to point you to a couple of other threads that are strictly about the Target mod/tank.
75W Vaporesso Target 2 VTC
100%VG started this thread and it has a bit of traction and a lot of useful information... some of it may sound like latin to you, but there are some very helpful people in that thread.
Great New Mod = Awesome Performance
This is a thread I started as a review on the Target mod/atty and has quite a few other members who also have this mod.
So, if you're still having trouble, check out one of those threads and ask around there, keep posting here and I'll follow up, or send me a PM and I'll do what I can to help you out. Good luck, Lindsay... it is a great mod/atty and I'm sure you'll be very happy with it once everything is sorted out.
