hello, I recently bought a smok h priv with a aspire cleito 120 in attempt to quit smoking. I am new to this and have a few questions. I was wondering if vaping affects your breathing like cigarettes do? Also, how many puffs does everyone take a day ( if they have a puff counter ) i'm just trying not to go too over board while vaping even though it is keeping me off of the stickies. I go through about 3-4 tanks a day of 3 mg nic. Also, what are some positive health affects and other things people have realized since quitting smoking and starting to vape? Is there any chemicals in e juice like there is in cigarettes?

Hmmm, when I switched my breathing got better. I switched over as compared to dual-using. I noticed a change after about a week or two if I remember correctly. But, it probably took longer to really get my windage back. I imagine it takes a lot longer, I just noticed it that's all.

I started at 11-12 watts and 24mg nic, which was the norm back then. Sub-ohm stuff wasn't really mainstream. Anyway, the stronger nic gave me confidence because I FELT it. By lunchtime that day, I knew it would work. Anyway, keep your set-up filled and with you at all times, BUT, just take 3-4 draws when you feel the physical desire. I actually learned to keep my set-ups just out of my line of sight so that I didn't just over do it and get to much nic at one vape moment. It takes longer for vape nic to get into the system as compared to smaoking a cig. Anyway, take 3-4 draws and sit it nearby. then, when you feel the urge, do it again. For me, it was about 45 minutes.

Obviously, if you want to chain vape, go low on the nic.

Being somewhat constrained to lower watts I had to go higher nic. But, I did learn that first thing in the morning, I liked a bit more nic. Just like smoking. I also learned that if I sat in front of the TV, I would vape more. What I also learned was that it was convenient to have multiple toppers with different nic levels in them. One for early morning and a coup[le for the sofa time. During the day I like to switch flavors because my taste buds get bored, so that means 3-5 more toppers.

Your taste buds are probably damaged from cigs and your sense of taste will take awhile. Just worry about getting the nic you need. You are not getting all the bad chemicals, so vape to your needs say. If you get a sense of nauseous, you just got extra nic. Lay down and relax for an hour.

Life is sooo much better.

Good luck!

Welcome to ecf. Nice set up. The cleito 120 is a juice hog. I have heard it does great clouds and flavor but it just eats up the juice. You may want to have another type of back up mod and tank in case something unforseen happens to your current set up. The motto around here is have a backup for your backup. LOL. Doing so will almost eliminate the panic you will feel to return to smoking if for some reason your vape isn't working correctly or the battery dies with no way to recharge.

One of the first benefits of not smoking is that your smell will return rather quickly. Taste buds take a little longer. As time went on my hair and skin got much better and my breathing was much deeper than when I was smoking.
Vaping is a journey. And a fun one at that. You will soon realize just how stinky those cigarettes really are(you don't really notice that when you smoke).
As far as chemicals....well its tough to beat almost no chemicals compared to cigarettes. Cigarettes have over 4000 chemicals not counting the ones created when burned. Ecigs has nic, pg, vg and whatever flavoring you put in it. If you make your own, you can control what you put in your body.

Anyway ask any questions you may have and have a look around. Plenty of good info and great members to help along the way.

Good luck.
:)

Vape when ever you want. If you start feeling nauseous, stop for awhile and lower your nicotine on the next batch of ejuice.
Vaping does have some effects on the lung, but no known long term effect. Usually just irritation but that is minor. If you get a sore throat, cut back your vaping for a few hours and drink lots of water. You will find you are thirsty more, that is normal.
Vaping doesn't clog your lungs the was cigarette smoke does, and any left in the lung is absorbed within a couple hour. You should notice more energy within a couple days as your blood O2 level increases.
Chemicals include: Listed in order of quantity
Vegetable Glycerine
Propylene Glycol
Nicotine
Flavor ((PG, (and / or) water, alcohol, VG), natural and or artificial flavor) *natural and artificial flavors are chemically identical, right to the last molecule.*
These flavors are exactly the same as you have been eating since the day you were born. All food (except tofu) has a flavor.

I would say I vape 5ml (equivalent) in a few types of e-cig. 20-30 vapes a day, 10-15 puffs per vape.

I started on 18mg (24mg in cig-a-likes) so as far as I'm concerned 3mg is too low to quit. Maybe with 50w it's possible (?)....

If I was vaping 3 or 4 tanks a day, I'd go up a nicotine level. 100% sure about that. :)

Agree, I think 3mg would be pretty low unless you only smoked 6 or less a day. That is in ecigs and smaller tank atomizers. Larger ones, like the TFV8 that produce huge clouds, 3 mg would be good. Same for drip atomizers.
