Hi all,

thanks for having a wonderful forums where ive been reading these past few hours. I finally decided to switch after having someone let me try their blu e-cig. I liked it and I figured I would switch from analog smokes as a way to help me quit. I've been reading reviews on both and plenty of folks seem to dislike blu and praise halo g6 for us noobs. I would like some feedback from folks who might have tried both.

also:

When it comes to smoking analogs( as you guys call it) I vary. I smoke anywhere from a few a day to an entire pack(when out drinking). I can make a pack last me 2-3 days, but then theres a few days I got 1.5 a day (again when im drinking). When I was surfing the halos website, I was confused on the different mgs they have listed. I don't want to be more addicted, as that's my last goal. Ive been trying to figure out where to begin and would also appreciate feedback on this as well.

Thank you for your time folks

Blu vs Halo for up to 1 PAD. (but sometimes less...)

Blu is out, Halo G6 is out. Both could potentially be a waste of your time and money.

If you like the look and style of Halo's approach to e-cigs and want something that works, as opposed to something which is little more than a placebo, then try the Triton tank Halo instead.

Triton Starter Kits are perfect for those that have outgrown the G6 E-cig or are looking to jump right into a superior performing system

Outgrown G6... What a joke. :) Get something that works, the FIRST TIME... not $500 down the line and still suffering nicotine withdrawal.

All the cigalikes are a total waste of money with Blu being the worst of the lot , do some research here and get you a Spinner or Ego twist topped with an Aspire tank and some good juice , probably in the 18 mg range for starting out with , whatever you decide on get at least two of everything , it pays to have backups .

You mentioned not wanting to be more addicted. IMO I wouldn't give that another thought until you have a month or two of no smoking done. Nicotine in the amounts we get is not harmful. You might get a headache from too much nic, but long term health it's not a concern compared to smoke. I'd recommend you start around 16mg-18mg. If you want better advise on a set up give us your budget and preferences you know of. I know you asked for opinions on those 2 specific setups but I, and most others, advise against any that look like a cig. You'll spend more time charging a battery than vaping it. Best of luck!

Thanks for the response. I feel that while still new, I sorta want to do the prefilled types first and give it a shot. I was debating between going e-cig and nicoderm TBH. I don't want to spend too much money and hassle of learning to do setups, fills, worrying about ruining a refillable, etc.

It's your choice. If you decide to "go in" on cig-a-likes, go for it! :)

My only concern is not to see people do what I did, which was to believe the hype and question my own sanity before the shameful marketing behind some of these little e-cigs.

I vaped a 24mg cartomizer which was supposed to do 30 cigarettes. 1) they only did 150 puffs 2) the battery ran out in just a few hours 3) they don't offer enough nicotine... that's why Vype and Njoy offer 48mg liquid.

Try one out. IF it does the job, be happy! :)

To answer your topic title questions, Blu and Halo.

I started my E-Vaping and getting away from cigarettes experience with Blu.
Put simply they SUCK. No real vapor, Expensive for what you get and Batteries die much quicker than they can be charged back up. So if you want to vape more often you are always waiting for a battery to charge.

    Halo G6.

I switched from Blu after about 2 weeks to Halocigs G6 system. Much better vapor, batteries last much longer than the Blu batteries, Cartomizers also hold more E-liquid than Blu.

Overall I like the Halo G6. In fact I still use it daily, like right now as I type this. Wherever I go and whatever I'm doing I always have a Halo G6 battery and cartomizer with me.

I also have 3 eGo style batteries, a Innokin iTaste VV V3 on its way to me, 2 Vamo V5 Mods and a Provape Provari. But I still use the Halo G6 system every day along with those others.

As far as tank systems I have an Aspire Nautilus, 4 of their ET-s tanks, 2 Kanger Mini Protank 3's and 4 Kayfun Lite + V2's.

But I still use the Halo daily.

As far as Nicotine level I would start out with 18mg and then drop to 12mg in 2-3 weeks. Then if you like drop that down to 6mg in another 2-3 weeks.

But that is really up to you.

Let me add that the one thing the Cig-A-Like system give you is the same sense of smoking, that is if you get the Automatic batteries.

It is like holding a cigarette and the draw is similar. For me that was very important to start with. I don't think I would be cigarette free now if I always had to press some button to get a vape and some Nicotine.

I have 3 Halo starter kits (Semi long story that I won't go into here) and got all auto batteries except one, Halo let you pick which style battery (Auto or Manual) and mix them. I rarely use the manual battery. I don't care to press a button with that style of vaporizer system.

For Juice my favorite flavor is Halo's Tribeca. Your's might be something completely different.

You can also refill the Halo cartomizers so you don't have to keep buying them after you have a stock of them. But they will eventually wear out. As do all the other tank coil heads and wicking systems. They eventually get clogged and have to be replaced or rebuilt. you can't really do that with cartomizers.

    My :2c:

Although cigalikes can help you make the transition from smoking to vaping, there are FAR BETTER setups available. My advice is to start a little further up the vaping ladder for a better first experience and the more likelihood of quitting smoking. Generally speaking, the bigger the battery and the better the juice delivery device (tank), the better the vaping experience. I recommend skipping the cigalikes and going at least to the intermediate level with an eGo battery setup.

Second what shootist said. I started on the G6 a little over a month ago after smoking for 30 years. The automatic battery draw and the feel of a cig was important to my brain as well as the tobacoo taste (torque 56). Have upgraded to mods and better delivery systems since but I don't think it would have stuck had I started like that. Gave my starter kit to a co-worker who wants to try quitting last week.
As far as wasting money...we're really only talking about the cost of 4 or 5 packs of smokes depending on where you live.

It doesn't matter all that much what you start out with. You will either say NOPE not for me or you will upgrade anyway.

You said you liked the Blu, so get one and try it for a while. When you decide you want more than a Blu can provide, (and you will) you can always give the Blu to a friend so that they can see if vaping is for them as well.

Went from Blu -> Halo -> EVOD -> RDA/RTA..... Starting with EVOD is the best way, IMHO...

I have a bone to pick with those that say start with Evod/eGo and not a good Cig-A-Like product. Most people that smoke cigarettes, even though they want to quit, are looking for the same or similar experience. Not just taking in some nicotine and expelling some sort of vapor/smoke.

If I had done that I probably would still be smoking the analogs and might not be vaping anymore. I needed something that I could stick in my mouth and draw on it, Hands Free, and the act of holding something that looked and felt like an analog. The thought of having to always press a button, having to use a hand, to get that nicotine and vapor did not appeal to me one bit.

I feel different now but I still like the Halo G6 for those exact same reasons.

Starting with a eGo style atomizer might be best for some but not for others.

If I may give my brief two cents.

The Blu starter kit is such a great concept, and has that beautiful lady who use to stick her tongue out on MTV back in the day advertising it. What's not to like? Problem is the battery pack/charger thing does not last long--I got maybe a month out of it. With refills, and new charger packs I was on par with what my analog's cost.

In my opinion: Blu is for the uninformed buyer. That was me, not you.

By the way, welcome to the forums. :)

Hi I'm going to speak honestly from my own expirenice. I tried the cig-a-like and it was blu to be exact and it caused frustration. Only was I able to fully quit smoking when I got my ego. I had plenty of vapor , a battery that lasted all day, and the juice had hundreds of flavors to choose from and was half the price of the blu cartomizers. When I tried blue I felt as if I couldn't get a good hit. Nor could I get enough vapor. I think those recommending you get a ego is trying to save you from the same frustration. Go ahead and give it a try if you like. Just know their are other better alternatives available if it's not working for you. I wish you the best.

This is your decision. If the Blu makes you comfortable because of the familiar form, go for it. Just don't be surprised if you find yourself moving on in a few months (or even less). I did.

Like so many here, I'll recommend bypassing the cig-alike phase if you can and immediately choosing something with more capabilities and more battery life. Even a basic eGo, the smallest of which aren't that much larger, will give you more time with it before you may (or may not!) wish to move on.

Where possible, I recommend an eGo Twist or Vision Spinner as your first item. They're larger, but have enough in the way of battery power and capability to keep you going for a while before you might want to upgrade. And in this case, many never do--I'm using my Spinner right now.
