The State of Confusion
I recently just bought a k100 and of course there is another battery. My question is, while I am charging one and vaping with the other; which "should" I put the ic protection chip in? (In the mod or the one charging?) And do I really NEED to use the protection chip? Thanks!

K100, isn't that a radio station in Burbank LOL

I am originally from Cali!

Yeah put it in the mod, always!

AW makes very good batteries. most of the US mod makers recommend AW brand batteries...

Welcome to the world of vapor! :vapor:

The protection fuse, if that is what you have, goes on the bottom or negative end of the battery when in the mod. It should attach via small magnet.

There two types. A single use one, and one that can be used multiple times.

Yes, you should use a mod fuse. All battery driven devices need some sort of protection. Mechanical mods have no protection built into the mod, unlike regulated VV/VW mods whose processor provides protection against short circuits in the heating coil and the battery.

Tell us what battery you are using? Name brand and numbers/letters on the battery? Depending on where you purchased your kit, it may be the wrong battery for your particular mod. Just because they send you batteries with the mod that's not to mean its the correct type. There are IMR, protected lion, unprotected lion, and hybrid types.

Are you running it with 18650's or 18350's?

If 18650's you can get 18500 batteries and a kick or kick2 (even clones work) and turn your plain jane every day mechanical into a VW APV!!!

The k100, 101 will fit a 18650 with a kick/kick2/crown? Interested in getting a mechanical mod that will do that. Have you done it?

Me personally no...I have a Vamo V3

Only other mechanical I have is a 18350 that ran $10 somewhere on here

Any 18650 mod with an 18500 battery will then have enough room for kick/kick2/crown

As for batteries I got two 18350's. One of which came with the kit (didn't include the 18650, but im not complaining), and I also bought an AW IMR.
