So my cousin took me to a local B&M store to pick up a vape after yelling at me about smoking. He bought me an Ego One, and some 18mg juice. I used it for a bit, but I just couldn't get used to it. He just visited again a few days ago and got on me again about smoking, and gave me a Kanger Subtank Nano to try out. I am sold!

I have a few questions though, especially about sub ohm vaping as apparently that's what I enjoy.

Everywhere I read it talks about not using a battery that is not _____ wattage, and I can't seem to find a ton of information about my Ego One on the net. I understand that it came with .5ohm atty to begin with, so I figured I'm okay.

The second question was around the amount of juice I am using. I love the big clouds (and non-hot-hits) and have been using the Nano wide open. I have been refilling the tank at least once a day, is this normal? Also, not totally sure on the whole VG/alternative or mixes, but is there a specific type I should be looking for with the sub ohm vaping?

Last question, I really liked the glass tip that came with the Ego One. Is there an alternative that I can purchase for the Subtank Nano?

Glad to be here, first time in many years I haven't even had the URGE to smoke analogs, and looking forward to more. My GF also decided to place an order earlier today, picking up an Apollo Valiant kit. Its just too bad we cannot use the same attys =/

Question #2 The subtank nano only holds 3ml, sub-ohm tanks go through more liquid than non sub-ohm tanks do. I use about 11 ml a day on my TCT, perfectly normal. Higher VG= more clouds and it's also less harsh (but has less throat hit), I use 80/20 for all my sub-ohm tanks and haven't had a single issue. I would recommend 6 mg nicotine, that's what I use and I smoked 1 and half pack of Marlboro reds. enjoy vaping.

The ego one can handle 0.5 fine, thats not an issue. It becomes an issue when you go into the 0.2 territory. Your juice usage is about normal, if not pretty below compared to others. Most of us order juice online from mt baker, ecblend, and other online sites that are trusted vendors due to price and customizing mixtures, or just make it ourselves.

Vg and pg are in juice in ratios. So an 80vg/20pg will be very smooth and slightly sweet since vg provides a smooth sweet vape. An 80pg/20vg blend would be very harsh but very flavorful because pg carries flavor better but adds a harsh throat hit.

Most new converts start out at 50/50, because it offers a throat hit similar to a cigarette when you inhale to your mouth and then you'r lungs but when you move to the higher airflow tanks like the subtank, they drop back on the pg and go with a 60vg or 80vg blend because they are inhaling straight to their lung instead of to their mouth first. Also, with subtank, nicotine intake is usually halved because of the amount of vapor being created the nicotine you take in per hit is stronger. Nicotine also adds throat hit.

Drip tips are rarely not interchangeable so that shouldn't be an issue just pull it off.

I think I got a everything right? Lol anyways welcome! If you have any questions there's plenty to of people to help you.

Really appreciate the advice! Looks like I'll need to

A) Find the old drip tip..
B) Order some 6mg 80vg/20pg, as I apparently skipped the mouth to lung hits, and have gone straight to the lung hits. Definitely enjoying myself, and am looking forward to trying out other juice.

My biggest concern, is I can see myself spending way too much money customizing different setups... (This is supposed to save me money!)

You just have to find a mod that works for you and stick to it. Pv's are like computers and tvs, there's always something being improved within a couple months. The juice and heads are not expensive, A 50 mil bottle cost me $25 and last me about 1 and half weeks, heads last about two weeks. It's not as cheap MYO cigarettes but it's still cheap.

G.A.S. (gear acquisition syndrome) or "Shineyitis" can be an issue once this becomes more of a "hobby" than a smoke cessation endeavor. I found my ideal setups and haven't purchased more gear in over a year, just replenishing my e-liquid supply. I make my own wire coils and wicks to save money.

Just Google search "glass or pyrex drip tips" to replace your glass drip tip if you can't find it. Glass feels great, looks great, and doesn't transmit heat from the atomizer like metal tips can, but they are fragile if dropped. I tend to prefer Delrin (plastic) or TruStone for a more durable tip.

Say you smoke a pack a day for 10 bucks a pack, thats 300 a month. And you spend 150 for a months worth of juice and a mod and 2 tanks. In a month you save 150. The 2nd month you buy 40 bucks of juice. That's 260 you saved. And that savings just keeps adding up. And then you want or upgrade in 6 months.. You already saved over 1k, so to spend another 100 bucks, thats nothing compared to the savings.

I wish I only filled mine twice a day. Ive been through a 50ml bottle the last three days. Luckily I diy. If you think your going to save money, good luck. It quickly turns into a hobby. I have stuff come in that I don't even remember ordering. Still cheaper than smoking though.

I appreciate the advice, the "I thought I was going to save money" line was more of a joke. I appreciate the fact that I wake up and can breathe better than I have in many years. I do tend to 'nerd' out on things however, so I'll prolly spend a decent amount of money early on until I am content.

I just picked up some 80/20 6mg today, and already notice a huge difference - a good difference. I also checked out some tips and my local shop, but they were all rather gaudy. I might have to pull the trigger on the uncrustable I saw linked elsewhere.
