Hello!
As the title suggests, I'm new. Gave up smoking everything a month ago to save some pennies (mainly around 4.20pm if you knows what I mean)
Didn't want to start with a standard pen so I got myself an eleaf istick 20w (my mate got the 40w from a shop up the road for the same price the next day ) and the nautilus mini.
I've been having issues with the NM, but I think it's because I'm a beginner. I find the BVCs get stuck and difficult to change sometimes. Tonight, the ohm went from 1.9, then jumped to 3.5! Never seen that happen before, tried to remove it, couldn't, screwed it back in and then it was down to 0.3 and wouldn't fire because the eleaf 20w won't sub ohm. I'll take it into my local Grey Haze shop tomorrow to get that sorted. Any (layman's speak) advice is more than welcome though.

On another note, I went in to buy £10 worth of juice and came out with £160 worth of new gear. The Volcano Lavabox (a massive jump for an amateur, right!?) and the smok TVF4. I'm having massive fun with that, but until I get my laptop fixed, I know I'm not gonna get the most out of it Coz I can't adjust the ohms so it's drinking juice like there's no tomorrow.

So, so far, giving up smoking is quite expensive. But tastier.
Comments, advice, anything welcome

sounds like a defective mod to me i have a ipv 2 that kept jumping around and burning up coils i took it apart too find a very poor soldering job, so depending on which angle i held it at it was getting different readings. i ended up resoldering it and since then i havent had a problem, since its new its under warranty i would say bring it back and get a replacement.

Check your 510 connection and your screw posts (if u are rebuilding coils). And check your coils if its uniformed and burning uniformly. The ohms jumping at that big of a difference is either the 510 is lose ( the positive pin of the atty to the bottom 510 pin) or the posts on the coils. When its lose there are spaces between when electricity sparks a little so it causes the ohms to jump high and low and sometimes .005. Happened to me once. So be sure to check that and update on us! Welcome to the best vaping group in the world!

You can't adjust ohms with a laptop. The ohms are determined by the coil. The TFV4 will always suck down the juice, it's designed to blow clouds and make flavor. It takes juice to do so. The rba with a basic coil may help some in that department though.

Edit* i was actually figuring out why he needs the lappy at first. Didnt occur to me he wants to check the ohms using his lappy. Until u said so lol. But in any case the tfv4 is a train chugger. It chugs juices and pukes clouds! Same with my zeph. Need to play with the coils to adjust to your liking.

Grey haze, Birmingham?
They'll help you out I'm sure.

* rant about Volcano deleted*

Just don't ever shop direct from them. :)

Grey Haze Nottingham. Uh oh, what's up with Volcano? Did I get wowed by *NewNewNew!!!" I bought it in store there too.

Ahh, I think I've misunderstood what I read/heard about adjusting the ohms.
I think I'll keep the TVF4 for Sunday best, and find something else for the evenings.

I went to a shop today (ecigarette outlet) to sort out my issue with the fluctuating ohms, turns out it was just a simple case of the coil burning out. Everything ok now, let it sit for a good few hours before firing it.

I want to get some kind of 50w set up next. I see the kangertech subox about quite a bit. Recommended? Although I do like to be a little different..

Thanks for everything so far!

It's a fine mod. The top products from them are good. The rest is dreadful; outdated nonsense for stupid money. Historically there has been too many "brand" stores making up prices to get filthy rich at the cost of newbies. $17 mods for $200, that sort of thing.

Well...I have a soft spot for Volcano/Inferno and their carto-tanks, they were my first tentative step into vaping and they showed me that vaping could really work, of course it was only a month before I launched off with Provarii, over two years ago now.
If I were starting over, knowing what I know now...like the man across the water would say "if I wanted to get to there, I wouldn't start from here" ;)
and almost forgot to congratulate the OP on quitting - success in your journey ! :toast:

Sounds like user error or something odd, must be. Nowt wrong with subtanks OCC or RBA. Never had a moment's bother.

IMO nothing is wrong with the kanger subtanks. Just the rba screws become looser everyday if u use 26g and above regularly. And the OCC is like winning a lottery.
