My girlfriend was interested in trying e cigs as a way to wean herself from cigarettes. I also smoke and thought that I would give it shot as well. I didn't do much research prior to looking into getting her set up with some type of e cig, I only knew I wasn't going to go the convenience store route...so I did a quick google search and apparently like a lot of other folks here I came up with V2.

I ordered a couples starter kit for her birthday and while waiting for it to arrive started doing some more research and found the ECF.
I learned here that V2 catches many folks such as myself with their marketing...but the kit arrived and it's nice but I learned there is a whole vaping world out there I didn't know existed. After a little more reading I ordered blank carto's, some various juices and started to really like what I was finding...further exploration led me to pick up a Cig Easy Elite 808 kit and I really like it.

Initially I saw all of the different contraptions people here were using to vape and thought they were things I would have no interest in...but as I get more involved and learn more and like it and understand it more the more involved I get. I've since ordered a couple of Volt X2's, a 650mah and a 1300mah etc. and I'm starting to look into some mod devices.

Since I started vaping about a week ago I stopped buying and smoking cigarettes...I had my last smoke last Saturday and haven't missed them a bit...The vaping and playing with the devices has kept me occupied and have satisfied my nicotine fix. Unfortunately my girlfriend is still smoking cigarettes and having trouble totally making a switch....she has been smoking for about 20 years and I only smoked for about 11 years (I didn't start smoking until I was 41 years old!). I was smoking anywhere from 2-3 packs of smokes a day! I really can't believe how I have been able to stop with cigarettes...I get my nicotine (which I have some control over) and I still get to "smoke" so to speak.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone on this forum! You are all so supportive and it really helps to read all of the success stories.

Welcome to the forum, Mark... I feel a little jealous of your quitting so fast (it took me about 6 months), but I'm glad for you... :)

I'll keep my fingers crossed. After my initial vaping...I bought a pack of cigarettes...just to have around because I figured I'd really want one...I smoked that pack of cigarettes last Saturday just because I had them and initially they tasted like crap as I was getting used to my juice...but since then I haven't thought much about a cigarette...I know the time will come when I will be tempted to smoke but so far so good.

I smoked 30 years and thought I would die smoking. When I started vaping, I kept a pack of cigs in the freezer just in case. lol. After 2 weeks I thought I'd try a cig just to see how it was. After 2 puffs I threw it out. I've done that maybe 4 times in the past 15 months of vaping and each time I can't go more than 2 puffs, and I throw them out. I never thought I would be able to do that or want to. After vaping so long the real cigs seem to have too hard a draw, hardly any vapor, and this horrible sticky smell feeling that I can't get off my hands. I can't believe they had me held so captive for 30 yrs. and I can't believe I actually am thinking this way and not feeling miserable. lol.

Welcome to ECF Markophonic! Glad you're having great success starting out. It might take the GF a while and it might just be that she smokes less. That's still a good thing - my wife still smokes about a pack a week, but it's still good. If you've got any questions, just ask. Good luck!

Glad you found vaping, Mark. Looks like you got the vape bug like the rest of us! It's possible your g/f needs to try new flavors until she finds one she really likes alot, which will definitely help her not want the cigs as much. Good Luck!

I've found some juices she likes. I think its more of an issue of getting used to an e cig and the "different" technique involved. She says she just needs to get used to it.

Thanks for the support!

Welcome to ECF. Congratulation on giving up the stinkies. Here are a couple of things you may find useful.

Congrats on quitting analogs! I, too purchased the v2. They are good quality, but are on the expensive side. If I had come to this forum first, I would have bought the Joyce eGo Twist.

The batteries on the v2 won't stay charged for long, so if you decide to stick with them, get an extra battery or 2. v2 has some batteries on clearance, so that wouldn't be a bad choice.

I've had mine for almost 2 weeks now, and quit smoking analogs as soon as my batteries were charged. I had 2 analogs left in my pack and smoked one while I was waiting to try my new toy out. The other cig still sits on my desk, and I've had no desire to smoke it.

One of the batteries died, so I called them up and they're sending me a replacement. One thing they do have is great customer service.

The carts don't last very long. One cart IS NOT one pack, but all the cig-a-like vendors tout one cart/pack. Get some e-juice and refill those empty carts!
