Just wanted to say hi. I've been lurking around the forum for about a month and I finally purchased my first e-cig, a 901.

Hats off to Electronic-Ash -- super fast shipping and great service. I got my 901 a week ago today, and I am happy to report that I am now totally free from cigarettes. I lit one yesterday, and it tasted terrible. So I am now vaping only. I ordered another starter kit for my mom. At 77, she's been smoking over 60 years, and I'd like to keep her around as long as I can.

Like other newbies, I had a few little hiccups -- learning the ins and outs of the device, but I want to thank all the great members here for posting such great information and instructions for newbies.

I have to concur with others that the pre-filled carts that come with the starter kits really taste like cr*p. Plus I didn't know at the time that the attys need to be blown out/cleaned before you use them the first time. What a disgusting awful taste!! But it's gone now, so guess I vaped enough to get rid of it.

I ordered some juice samples from Rocky Mountain Vapor which arrived yesterday -- they taste great!! Today I am vaping on vanilla, and what a treat. Plus I must say their shipping was super fast. I ordered Friday night and Monday was a holiday, but I still got them on Wednesday. Plus today I got the 2nd starter kit from Electronic-Ash that I ordered for my mom. After reading all the reviews, I ordered the manual 901 for her, and I'll probably get some manual batteries for me. I've tried hers, and it does seem to produce more vapor than my automatic does.

My mom smokes Liggett Ultra Lights. Can anyone recommend a juice flavor for that? She's already tried my Marlboro flavor and didn't like it. She smokes menthols occasionally, and I have some menthol juice for her to try. But she wants tobacco flavor, and I'm not sure what to order. Any suggestions are appreciated.

It's so hard to reccomend a flavor for someone else! What I like, you (or your Mom) will think is awful! But what I will say is you need to try a sample pack or order from Litecig. (10ml for 4.99) If she dislikes the marlboro, try a drop of menthol or vanilla in it and see if that does it. Maybe a drop of caramel or cherry?

There is a Virginia flavor that is smooth, and takes an added flavor well. But to tell the truth, we all wanted a "just like I smoked" flavor at first and soon feel in love with the world of flavor! Right now I am vaping 555 and butterscotch (mixed). 555 is a nutty tobacco flavor (kind of peanut butter with a peppery kick) that I like mixed with other flavors.

My regular vape is RY4, that's a tobacco flavor with a sweet caramel flavor to it.

I also love the fruit flavors, banana is wonderful and so is cherry.

You are just going to have to kiss a few frogs to find a keeper!

Glad things are going well, it's a great feeling to finally kick those cigs!

My advice is to warn your mother right off that there is no eliquid that will taste exactly like an analog/cig, to think of it as changing brands...And to always try different flavors. You never know which way you'll lean...Taste ( and taste buds) are so different for everyone.

That said, I like the tobacco flavors...I'd suggest finding sites that offer samples..Try Rocky Moutain Vapor.com (free shipping).. MyFreedomSmokes.com .. Nhaler.com .. ecigsokestore.com (low shipping) to name a few.. You might have to order from a few of the sites to get a nice variety.

popular analog like tobaccos: Dunhill, Hilton, Virginia, Kent, Cubin Cigar to name a few...There is one tobacco flavor that has a slightly different taste. That doesn't quite fit in the above catagory but, is also very popular and that is Flue Cured..

My personal favorite is Dunhill and Virginia ( but I only like the virginia from MyVaporStore.com ..Their's seems to be lighter and smooth..It's also the only one my neighbor will vape).. I also keep Cubin Cigar (Its strong and least sweet, to me) on hand to mix with other tobacco liquids that are too sweet etc.. And many like that one on it's own.

So maybe start with something like Dunhill/virginia, flue cured, cubin cigar..Then find out what her all time fav fruit flavor is and grab a sample of that too lol...Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies. I've placed an order for Flue Cured, Kent, RY4, Hilton and Virginia, so that should give my mom (and me) a good variety of tobacco flavors to try. I also ordered some extra batteries and attys. I'll keep my automatic batteries as a backup, but I really liked the manual battery a lot better.

Today I am vaping juicy peach, and all I can say is wow -- love it.

Like Mary kay I enjoy the 555 tobacco but I use a lot of other flavors from delicate (kiwi, champagne) to super-heavy flavors (capuccino).

I smoke a LOT of different flavors during a day because, for me, after I've smoked the equivalent of 3 to 5 analogs of one flavor, I can't really taste it anymore, so I switch to something else. A lot of the time I top off a cartridge with a new flavor and find a particularly good mix!

I received my second order from Rocky Mountain Vapor on Saturday (I just placed the order late Thurs. nite -- those guys are fast!!).

My mom spent the week-end with me, and I let her try all 15 flavors that I now have. She absolutely loved the RY4 for the tobacco flavor, plus she liked the menthol, mint, and strawberry. So I sent her home with those four. She hardly smoked any of her Liggetts the whole week-end -- I'm so happy!! Now that we've found flavors that she really likes, it will be much easier for her to transition from smoking to vaping.

I liked the flue-cured tobacco and will probably place another order for the RY4 for myself -- it was heaven. In fact, I have never tasted a real cigarette that tasted that good. So far my other favorites are vanilla and peach, but the raspberry and cherry come in really close. It's really nice to have such a big variety of flavors.

I quit analogs on an 801. I recently won a free DSE901 kit from Good Prophets and definitely could have quit with this device, as well. Throat hit and vapor production are a little bit more robust than the 801. Enjoy your new device; I like it!
