New to vaping and what is this thing I bought?

Hello all... Name's Eric and I was a PAD marlboro menthol lights guy for about 10 years. I picked up an ecig starter pack at a kiosk from a small company at the local mall a few months back, and haven't had an analog in 2 months now. The thing is that the one I bought works well enough, but has a lot of issues. First off, it is labeled as: MAXX by Electonic Cigs - Smoking Tonight and it looks just like a regular cig. Problem is the batteries don't last, it gets hot, it's unpredictable and tastes different all the time and it just doesn't "hit" right. I'm guessing that it's probably something cheap and mass produced, but I can't really find much about it online. I just wondered if anyone here can give me any info on this thing or recommend something better. It works well enough I suppose since I haven't had an analog in 2 months, but I'm afraid that if I don't get something better soon, I'll just pick up the marlboros again. All info is much appreciated. Thanks!

Hmmm I don't know what that is. I was gonna say DSE901 with that long atomizer but 901's have male batteries and female threaded atomizers so it is not DSE901

The atomizer looks much longer than a 510 atomizer, totally different from an RN4081 atomizer (which is an unpainted steel atomizer that fits inside the cartridge).

My only guess is that may be a 902 which sold by Modern vapor and CigEasy
BUY ELECTRIC CIGARETTE PARTS: 902 E-Cig Atomizers, Batteries, Prefilled Cartridges, Smart PCC

If it is 902 I know nothing about it.

I can't tell you which model it is the black one on the website in their logo looks a lot like a standard 510 but the atomizers look longer to me. I would agree with Demon for cost effectiveness and battery life get a Riva 510 SE. 32 bucks or so shipped (make sure to click the 20% off button. It is easy to get 3-10 hours on a battery depending on OHMS and how often you vape. When I used my Riva kit I got 8-12 hours on the atomizers it came with and about 3-4 hours on Boge LR cartos.

If you are ready to smoke something that looks nothing like a real cig then Mods may be good for you. Mod batterys are typically cheaper and interchangeable. They can last anywhere from 3 hours to days depending on battery size. But Mods can range anywhere from 20 bucks to a couple hundred bucks depending on what they are made of and features.

They sure don't tell you much about the ecig on their website so that should be a clue to get off the train! Most people around here recommend a Riva or ego as the next step up but you'll probably end up with a mod in the end. It depends on your budget what to recommend but you can't go wrong with an inexpensive Riva or ego. I have both and love them both but I ended up with a mod or 2.

I'd call it a good start. Hey it got you off the nails didn't it. :vapor:

To me it looks just like the Smoke 51 Trio I started with and still use (a LOT cheaper though). If it is than it's a 510 battery but I still haven't figured out the attys. They look like some kind of modified high bridge 306 with extended side walls. The atties are fine if cleaned from time to time (I de-bridged mine and use them for dripping) but those prefilled carts are awful compared to 510's you fill yourself.

My advise would be to get a cheap 510 kit to check it out. Good Prophets has a 510 carto kit for $12.99 that gives you 1 battery 2 cartos and a usb charger. GP 510 SUPER Mini kit. If your parts are interchangeable with the 510 and you want a cig like pv for occasional use, the 510 is a real nice setup and you now have some cartos to try instead of carts.

The others are right in that you will probably want more at some point. I'll continue to use my 510's because I like them and don't mind changing batteries most of the time. There are times I want a bit more umph and a longer battery life. I personally decided to skip the Riva / Ego phase and jump to a 3.7v mod. Will let you know how I like it when it gets here in a few weeks.

It looks similar to a rn4081 type. Like the 21st century ecig. He's a vendor here I think.

And I use the Riva too. Its easy, quick to prep and has the 510 connect that is most popular for atties/carts/mods.
That means that if you upgrade from it in the future, you can still you most of your stuff on a new product. Its more economical in the long run.
