New to vaping, can't get it to work

I just bought a kangertech topbox mini, the guy at the store set it up for me and explained how to prime to coil and it worked great. I read online that the stainless steel coils are better for you so I decided to change it out. After I did so it is crackling and vapor is coming out the air holes at the bottom of the tank. I did some reading and thought it might be the atomizer so I went and bought a new stainless steel, however the exact same thing is happening with the new one. Any ideas on what this might be I'm at a lose and can't find any more info.

did you wait for a bit for the cotton to saturate the ejuice? crackling is usually that

I primed the coil before filling the tank and let it soak for about an hour before use.

something i forgot to mention, juice is coming out of the air holes when i press the button as well but not at other times

theres a kangertech brand stainless steel coil in there, I have it on the stainless setting at 400 degrees, to my understanding we arent supposed to go much lower than that?

yeah what wattage are you using? the ohms in the coil you are using might be too high for the watts

just saw you replied, you can use whatever temp you want, what is the ohms on the coil? might be too hot though for them, someone correct me if i am wrong but isnt temp only good for titanium and nickel? i have a box mod that has tc but i never really got into it

You CAN use SS in power mode too. Try that

So, have you tried it again with the coil it came with initially?
If it works with the original coil the issue might become more clear.

Is it an actual SS coil or is it an SSOCC coil with regular kanthal coil in it? Does it have the pink o-ring at the bottom?

The naming convention on the new Kanger coils is actually quite idiotic.

Except for the leak, are you getting a decent vape?
Check your o-rings, when first filling turn upside down with airflow closed, don't fill over 3/4.
It may still leak initially, but will stop when internal pressure stabilizes.
Crackling? Don't sweat it..
