Hoping somebody has a moment to spare for my sad, needy noob-ness.

I got started with a kr808d-1, some smoketip vanilla cartos, and then I filled a few myself with vaperite juice. I enjoyed it, until I noticed the cartos cooking, early and often. Out of my urgency to get off analogs, I decided to just upgrade to the eGo, which are so cheap in the wake of the eGo-t, it seems.

But my eGo experience was awful. I made the decision to drip-tip my good juice, and all I succeeded at doing was flooding, then cooking two atomizers. Needless to say, I've got quite a sore throat. Now, the atomizers can't even deliver a good hit off the stock marlb cartos, even after a thorough cleaning.

I'm thinking of just grabbing a tank system to hook on to my eGo battery now, but I was wondering if anybody had any tips to keep me vaping in the interim. I apparently have an aversion to doing it safely, which is sort of the point.

(I should note, I'm not just incessantly holding the buttons down on these things or constantly hitting, either)

Welcome to the forum. My Mom quit with the Smoke Tip. Unfortunately their cartos aren't meant to be refilled. You can but unfilled cartos for it and fill them yourself. V4L and other vendors sell them.

As far as the ego, I can't drip or fill carts successfully either. I just stick to the Boge 2.0 cartomizers and seem to have excellent luck with them.

Good luck!

As far as tanks, I don't think they're newbie friendly. If you have trouble with regular attys and carts you might have issues with the tank as well. If you're a person that doesn't mind fiddling with stuff they can be good. If you have zero patience like me you're tempted to toss them across the room when they don't work.

The clear fluxomizers are prone to cracking and some people have even had the bottoms come out so if that happens to you, don't blame it on yourself.

I use Boge cartos with a colored clear plastic drip tip as a mouthpiece instead of the end cap. not to drip in (the juice would aim for the air channel) - just as a mouthpiece that's easy to remove for adding juice.

When you fill the first time fill totally.

Pop out the white end cap by sticking in a paperclip just enough to pop it, not so much you catch stuffing or wire. Hold a tissue on the end hole, tilt the carto and put at least 18 drops in there (18-24 drops is a ml). then clean up the threaded end, tilt open end down and puff into it to clear the air channel (you should be able to see light through it), sop up any juice that is loose above the stuffing. Then I recap and lay it on different sides for 15-20 minutes to make sure every bit of stuffing has absorbed juice because otherwise you can singe the stuffing and ruin the carto. I am using 70pg/30vg juices and for their thickness 15-20 minutes is enough but if you have much thicker juices you may need to wait a lot longer.

Vaperite - if that is 100% VG and thick I don;t even know how well it will work in cartos. I even have sluggish 70/30 juices. My thinner 7030's and 80/20's seem to absorb quickest into cartos and spread well through the stuffing.

re cartos - you have to keep them damp. I don't know what you mean by cooking cartos but if you singed them then you were not keeping them damp or you were using juice too thick to disseminate well in a carto. As for carto heat on your lips - yes some KR8 cartos get hot and if you got LR Boges they could get hot on the Ego - use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece.
