I bought myself a vaporesso luxe nano after minimal research and now I have a few questions
    it goes from 5w -80w,

it comes with 2 coils 0.15ohm and 0.2ohm by default. (they work at 50w-80W)
I'm thinking about buying another tank that takes gtx coils @ 0.8 -1.2 so I can try out liquid salt on the same vape

The reason im vaping is to try cut out smoking completely, Im normally smoking 2-3 hand rolled cigs a day and than it could be around 20ish on nights when I go to the pub one or twice a week.

does this work using two different tank types on the same mod to test out different e-liquids? ( 0.2 ohm and 1.2 ohm)

The websites that sell the products are very vague and the videos I've watched dont really explain ohms, watts and liquids very well

    Welcome to ECF
You can definitely use different types of tanks on the same mod. As long as the tank has a 510 thread to screw comfortably onto the mod you're good to go!! It's always a good idea to have a second mod as backup as well just incase you have any issues with the one you use!

Cool, yea the Tank I have for it is a SKRR-S with QF coils that range between 0.15 and 0.2 ohms (@50-80watts)
The one I'm gonna get is Vaporesso GTX Tank 18 with GFX coils that range between 0.8 and 1.2ohms (@8-12Wwatts)
The mod can do 5-80Watts so I think it can run both?
so on the 0.2 ohm tank i can use 70/30 vg/pg and the 1.2 ohm tank I can use 10mg nic salt 50/50

by device appropriate you mean ohms and wattage ?
    yarp,
add air flow, wicking capacity, coil surface area, heat flux and your vaping style.

Personally, my nicotine level is low enough to allow me to chain vape continuously. (8-12ml per day.)

Your needs and usage patterns should be your guide.

    cheers

is there any good resource or cheat sheet somewhere for best practices for each fluid type,
at the moment I have some 0 Nic 70/30 VG/PG and some 10mg Nic salt 50/50,

Watch a few videos of folks using your exact device.

Mimic the draw speed and air flow of the hosts and adjust your wattage and air flow to achieve the "shape" of the vape you desire. Experiment

Each coil resistance WILL be different, rinse and repeat for new flavors/nic levels as well.

Shape of vape: temperature, mouth feel, density, flavor, throat hit, appropriate draw length, air resistance and a satisfying cloud (or not) on exhale...

    Cheers

the way I understand quitting is first you Move to just ecigs, which gives you control over nicotine concentration, then you slowly reduce that concentration Till it reaches zero. takes between 8 weeks - 2.5 years generally depending on how fast you go. The slower you go generally the better you chances but YMMV.
”salts” are nicotine and something else that are reacted together to make a chemical with a longer shelf life. Freebase (which I prefer to call unprotonated) lasts more or less forever if you keep it in the freezer though. I’ve got bottles of 100mg nic base that are years old. What exactly that second chemical is is often not mentioned which is a reason why I personally dislike salts. There are hundreds of possibles each with a different atomic weight, though generally it’s one of two. (though something really heavy and cheap would likely make more money and I worry about that. Some of the combos are highly toxic and historically cigarette companies don’t care if their product kills you. They’re just after as much money as possible) Doesn’t have to be though. Sometimes the second chemical makes them react with steel sometimes it doesn’t. Pods are plastic so it avoids that issue.
Different coils have different resistances and they can vary a lot Depending. They’re usually somewhere between 0.2 and 2 ohms. Go down far enough in ohms and you have what amounts to a short Circuit. Me I usually like about 3.0 volts generally which means for 2 ohms of coil I’d be vaping 7.5w and for 0.2 ohm more like 35w. ATM I’ve got a .38 ohm coil. So 23w x .350hm = 3.01v. I find with these coils I like around 2.6 better so I vape em at 18.

I'm happy enough for the moment to just move to a vape so I'm not smoking heavily at the pub I tend to chain smoke on nights out and I've a feeling it makes my hangovers a lot worse, I'd usually have 1-3 cigarettes on normal days and I'd have more if work is stressful.
Im using a 0.2 ohm coil at 35-45W seems to give a decent pull, make a bit of a cloud, any more and I cough any less and the coils I have don't produce a lot as they are rated for 50-70W.

I have another tank on the way that will let me run a 0.8 -1.2 ohm coil at 8w-12w.
What I might end up doing is using the lower Wattage one for nic salt and then use the higher wattage one for 0 nic and taper off nicotine. from what I've read the lower wattage suits nic salts

I think the tank I'm using isn't suitable for nic-salts 50/50 as its been a bit leaky since I've used them over the 70/30 stuff.

I'm well aware the companies are after as much money as possible, another reason I want to quit smoking is the the rolling tobacco I use is ~25€ for 30grams as the tax on tobacco here is huge.
The setup costs and a few bottles of fluid to test cost me about 1-2 months in tobacco, and I probably have enough liquid to last longer that 2 months

Everyone is different. All my coils are around 1.2 ohms and I use 12W of power. My juice is 6mg. That wouldn't have worked for me when I started vaping, or five years ago. Ask 10 people and you will get 10 different opinions.

You're definitely on the right track getting new gear and trying different ohms and nic levels. Really that's the only way you can find out what works best for you.

I never tried salt nic. I would be interested to hear what differences you notice.

Vapes may not help with the hangover thing. Hangovers are dehydration. Alcohol is a diuretic. VG and PG are hydroscopic though. One makes you pee it put, the other ties it up. Best bet is drink a whole bunch of water before bed. When you’re young it’s not that you don’t get hangovers, it’s that you don’t notice them. Or y’know, less alcohol at the pub. Maybe switch to something with no alcohol or caffeine an hour before you leave.
Me, my limit has been one or maybe two for a long time now. I’ll still be there for 4 hours, I just drink a lot of water. Has the advantage of costing less.

been smoking a mixture of a 0 Nic 70/30 , and a 10mg/10ml 50/50nic salt for a day or two now as far as i've read and watched salt nic isnt really much different to any other 50/50 except that you can get it in much higher concentrations, Seems to stop my cravings for smoking even while drinking beer which was my main downfall while trying to quit smoking. As far as ive figured out is if you want clouds go for low ohms (0.15) high wattage otherwise you can go high ohms (1.2) and low wattage which allows you to use the likes of 50/50 nic salts supposedly the low ohm coils arent suited to nic salts. Im kinda drawn towards the big clouds my friend whos vaped for a while tried mine today and was impressed but he's always gone for the cheaper beginner kits than run a much lower wattage without any controls .

I will tell you in the morning if it makes much of difference hangover wise, smoking also causes dehydration and I tend to chain smoke while drinking, when I've gone cold turkey on cigarettes before my hangovers have been more manageable so I'm hoping vapes will have a similar effect. Im 30 so I'm well aware hangovers get worse with age, alcohol is a major part of social life where I live we don't binge but 8-10 pints of beer over maybe 5-6 hours is a good Friday night, I do limit to one night a week but It would be nice to function better on a Saturday morning.

Cold turkey was horrific for me. Not that I had a choice. When 1 puff of a cigarette give you bronchitis so bad it lays you out. You pretty much go cold turkey. I actually hadn’t had a cigarette in 10 years when vapes came along. I wonder if you’re just more used to the awful. Bunch of water should help. There was an alcoholic doctor who used to vacuum out his stomach in the evening to avoid hangovers. Nearly died when he screwed it up (he was drunk of course) and went to rehab. Diluting the stomach alcohol and putting in more water to be absorbed helps though. It’s not a cure so much as a moderator.
