New to Vaping - Frustrated! Help!

So I ordered a blu starter kit about two weeks ago and have been using it for the last weekish. Every cartridge I've used that has come with it (the menthol) has NOT tasted like menthol. Each one has had a chocolatey, coffee taste that's horrible. So, I ventured around the internet looking for cartomizers that would fit my blu. I read several different places that the Volcano ones fit my blu so I went and bought two packs. I got the packs and the cartomizers are the old ones - the ones you need an atomizer to use, i guess. So, I have no use for them since I can't return them.

After that situation and not being satisfied with my blu, I don't want to give up on vaping and go back to analogs. Could anyone recommend a kit that works better than the blu or a place I can get cartomizers for my blu in different flavors? Please please help!

Well, I can't speak for the Blu's because I have never tried them, but I use the Joye eGo and it has been just amazing! I quickly learned that I did not like carts, so I switched over to cartomizer's and haven't looked back once. It sounds to me like you are just using the often very bleh carts that typically come with a starter kit? Have you bought any juice at all to refill them yourself?

I just started with blu last week, and "classic tobacco". I can report the following so far:

Cart 1 - Sweet, capuccino type taste. Thought/think I got a java jolt by accident. At the end got a wicked nasty burnt taste
Cart 2 - Less sweet taste, but a little (g/f is using this one)
Cart 3 - hardly any sweet taste, more of an almost burnt undertone
Haven't tried the last two.

I really think they got a bad batch of carts, or are having some consistency issues from Johnson Creek. They are CLEARLY not mixed properly or being packaged improperly. I am heavily considering getting on with customer service and asking for replacement carts. So don't let it turn you off to the hobby, I think we just got bum stuff.

As for your carts from Volcano they are just carts, not "cartomizers" so, yes you need an atomizer. You can just get an atomizer from Volcano or Rocky Mountain Vapor or whatever and use those Volcano carts. Better than wasting them :)

I'm a new blu guy but have learned a ton in the past week, including some orders from Volcano and others on the way, so ask away questions! Happy to help!

Cartomizers aka Cartos never need an atomizer. The word means combined cart and atomizer.
Cartridges aka Carts need an atomizer

I think Apollo sells some prefilled 510 cartomizers. This should be the right ones.
Cartomizers for Apollo Standard Kit

And this place has some
http://www.liquidxpress.com/Xpress-510-Cartomizers-c9/

But there are not a lot of prefilled cartos for 510. Most 510 carto users buy Boge standard resistance blank cartomizers and put their own eliquid in them.

And how about getting your 5 non-spammed posts/replies in New Members then about an hour later you can ask in the Blu forum. You could go look there now.

GREAT information. What I like about cartomizers is its like getting a NEW atomizer with each new carto. Also cheaper than buying atomizers.

Ok just got this reply from blu customer service. A bit of a joke if you ask me. 30 day return starting to sound like a good choice...

"Sidney: Our cartridges are going to have a sweet taste to them. In most of our cartridges the main ingredient is vanilla so that may be what you are tasting.
Sidney: The burnt taste indicates that you need to replace the cartridge, because it is empty.
Me: hah!
Me: wel that makes sense
Me: so even in menthol or whatever there will be vanilla?
Sidney: Yes, there is vanilla in all flavors except cherry."

If this is true, it's ridiculous...? (BTW it might be time to move this to blu forum, but I don't have that power!!)

I like the blu/Volcano form factor, and the ease of tossing into the pack. Maybe volcano is more for you? They are known for great cust service, and do work to create many of their own products I'm told. If you message me I'll tell you more of my experience, but don't want to seem like I'm pimping products/vendors here in the thread. Don't want to blow my non-newb status :)

That is bizarre. Vanilla IS a good cutting flavor but that seems odd. They will be sweetness almost always in eliquid unless it have a bitter flavoring in it because both PG and VG are sweet.

Yah I know. And the flippant way they replied didn't really impress me much. "Yes none of them will taste like what we say it will, move along".

i tried to PM you, but I'm still restricted to only posting threads. Quick question about volcano though, aren't all their models 3-piece?

In my experience with two piece kits, the best one I found was from vapor 4 life. They sell ultimate kits and premium carts. The WOW product line is pretty amazing. Their shipping is fast and customer service is outstanding. I have moved on to hv mods since then but I recommend them as an excellent starting place.
