New to vaping. Hard to find info.

Hey guys. Been lurking for a few weeks. I bought a volcano inferno last week and I do enjoy it for a first setup.

My issue now is I wanna start using better juices so I need a tank upgrade. I really prefer the bottom coil tanks but I car to tank would work too.

I know the threading in the inferno batteries is odd and i can't find a solid answer on what glass/metal tanks would fit on my inferno battery.

I have been looking at protanks and such but there's no stores around here to actually test it to see if it fits.

Any info or should I just buy another standard ego battery?

The inferno is basically a rebranded eGo battery, they have very common threading. The 510 + ego thread. The protank will fit that battery perfectly.

Well on a regular ego there's threads on the inside and the outside correct? The inferno battery has an o-ring on the outside instead of threads.

I had a lavatūbe 2 and the new infėrno. The protank 2 mini won't screw on either one due to lack of threading on the outside. Protank 2 will screw on the infėrno but it covers the vent holes on the tank so it doesn't work well either. I ended up ditching my võlcano gear since I felt trapped in võlcano universe.

The Inferno is 510 threaded only. It does not have the ego threading on the outside. Anything with 510 threading should work.

Try the Tube Tank by Volcano. That what I started with. The Inferno used to come with the tube tank in the kit. Now they have changed it. The tube tank was made for the Inferno and it is a good starter carto tank. I still use them from time to time on my MVP 2.

The Inferno is only 510 threaded so no ego threaded tanks will work. That means no Protank mini. The Protank 2 will work but it will make it really top heavy and looks kind of funny. For me carto tanks are much better anyway. The flavor and vapor is much better. They are also more cost effective for me. A cartomizer lasts me for almost a month. I was changing out the head coils on my protanks every other day!!

If you want to spend a little more and get a really awesome tank then get the IBTanked 15mm tank. This will fit nicely on your Inferno also. The IBTanked tanks are what I use on a daily basis. They are really good!!

Yup. The Volcano Inferno has 510 threading but no eGo threading. What looks like eGo threading is for their proprietary cartos which means you won't be able to use any of the eGo-threaded clearos like Kanger BCC T3, T3S, Baby T3, MT3/S, Evod, Protank or mini protank. I don't think there is an adapter for Inferno>eGo. I doubt it.

Ahh I see now. So yea. I'll probably just buy a ego battery and go from there. That way I'll know pretty much any popular tak will fit it. Right now the tube tank is great as I enjoy the bottom coil but it's plastic so my juice options are limited. I use a blu ecig cart ontop of the spare battery just cuz I had a few packages of blu menthol carts left j figured if use em up. Makes a good discreet travel vape. Lots of vapor too surprisingly.

At least you'd have multi-use back-up batteries if you decide to get new ones.

It looks like it would work yes. But it would not be aesthetically pleasing to look at. Haha. The trick would be to cover up the oring part of the inferno with some sort of sleeve. I'm sure there's something out there but it would be easier to pick up a variable voltage smoketech and a protank for under 50 bucks.

Another questions comes up, I'm not really wanting to get into mods or anything anytime soon. Like I said before I really like the bottom coil tank for ease of use and no wicking problems. What's a good tank that's bottom coil that is full glass/metal?

Kanger Protank 2, 3 and the Mini2 are all glass/metal. I've been happy with them, but it's extremely easy to find some who weren't, LOL.
The Davide tank (and the mini) are also glass, and I believe take the Kanger replacement coils. I haven't tried them.

I've also been pleased with the Aspire Vivi Nova-S BDC, and the smaller ET-S BDC Glassomizer.

What do you mean by better juices? Are you talking about juices notorious for cracking tanks (ie. Strong cinnamon flavors) or thick, high VG based juices (ie. Boba's Bounty). Because if you are talking about VG juices even clearomizers will work very well, not always necessary to go glass or metal. Cinnamon you will definitely want glass or metal (Phiniac glass tanks are super durable). Lots of tanks on the market (ie. Aspire Nautilus) have glass and metal replacement tanks.

Yea I meant more aggressive stuff. I was def looking at the protank 3 but I've heard horror stories. Yet again you hear horror stories about every product. It's not too expensive I'll have to try it.

That aspire nautilus looks amazing if you can find one. But it would look huge on an ego battery. Haha. I may pick one up tho. At least place an order and hope it comes in soon.

Since you have an eGo class battery, 15 mm diameter, I suggest you first try eGo-threaded toppers that will mount flush on your battery. If you like glass, mini ProTank 2 and Aspire ET-S are both good choices. Start there and see how you like them. I also suggest you get a variable voltage battery like Vision Spinner or eGo Twist or iTaste VV V3; if you don't mind a box shape, try an iTaste MVP 2. If you get an MVP 2, you'll be able to use bigger (19mm diameter) tanks on it easily.

Yes, you hear horror stories about almost any device; a lot of them stem from user error/unfamiliarity with the device. Get one or two toppers and learn how to use them correctly. And take it from there.

I suppose so, but those adapters are rather poorly made and often don't work well.

May be worth a try.

I pulled the plug n bought a ego battery and a mini protank 2. 55 bucks for the deal. I don't have a charger for it yet though. Lol. Now I can try the hawk sauce from mt bakers vapor
